Description

I fell in love with Matt the minute he was introduced and knew there was more to him than met the eye. And the unfolding of his story was done very well and in such a way that you were hooked from the beginning to the end. A lot of weird things are going on in the village. Jayne's cat, the portrait at Hive Hall (Jayne's house) which seems to follow his movements with its eyes and keep changing poses, the villagers, the roads, the woods. Everything. Matt Freeman, always knew: He is different with others. He started with dreams. Then he came to the murders. After arresting Matt Freeman, the police sent him to a farm in Yorkshire to be run by an elderly woman. Not long, that felt "Matt", his supervisor is not a common habit. The rest of the villagers were not normal. Then, "Matt", from the existence of the predecessors, became aware, and knew, for reasons different from others. But nobody believes in his words, no one could help him. Does not prove anything. Logically, there is only one gateway in the Carnist ... the crows gate.

It is the first book of Anthony Horowitz’s Gatekeeper series. I received the fourth book (Necropolis) as a giveaway and because it was the 4th book I went out and got the 1st three because I don’t like to start reading a story in the middle.

Raven’s Gate

One night Matt wanders towards the forest where he fiends all the village gathered, children and all. Some people unloading a box. Matt touches a trap which alarms Jayne Deverill his cruel and odd fosterer. She magically summons three hounds who chase Matt until he falls in the bog but he is rescued by Richard the journalist. He teLos him his story and his precongnitive abilities and how he can for see the future and move items with his mind. Richard accepts and they meet the creator of the building where the ritual was taking place. Raven’s Gate is a wonderfully creepy and utterly captivating novel and, while it’s not for everyone, it is an excellent read and something which I highly recommend. It has a vat of face-melting acid. What more do you really need? The only thing I'd warn parents about is that there's a lot of violence in the book, with one character dying graphically in the course of the book. Since each parent is different when it comes to this sort of thing, I recommend that the parents read the book first & then discuss the content with their child after they've finished reading it. The book is quite good, so the parents shouldn't have any problem reading it. (Plus it's a great way to connect with your kid!) In the next few weeks, a society named the Nexus, to which Dravid belonged, tells Matt and Richard that another gate is opening in Peru.

The writing was so beautiful. I was literally jumping every time Matt tried to escape and groaned every time he failed. You could feel whatever the author was trying to convey. It was beautiful.

What do you get when you mix elements of Harry Potter, Stephen King, and Night at the Museum together? You get Raven’s Gate. A graphic novel adaptation, written for Walker Books by UK writer Tony Lee and drawn by artist Dom Reardon was released on August 3, 2010. It's like a bad B-horror movie, but without the charm to make it "so bad it's good", so it's left just being "so bad it's mediocre" which is just completely bad.
