Description

The Tom Kitten 50p is a fan favourite amongst 50p coin collectors, and for good reason. It’s been out for a good few years now, so how much is the Tom Kitten 50p worth today? But one day their mother—Mrs. Tabitha Twitchit—expected friends to tea; so she fetched the kittens indoors, to wash and dress them, before the fine company arrived. of the silver-proof coloured versions were minted, making that particular version slightly more common than the coloured Benjamin Bunny coin of the same year (30,000). Tom Kitten 50p Coin Reverse Design Somehow there were very extra— ordinary noises overhead, which disturbed the dignity and repose of the tea party. Cute Kitten: Tom Kitten, Mittens, and Moppet, our three main characters, are portrayed as cute, innocent kids.

little kittens are all dressed up by their mother to put up a good show before her friends. They got dressed well but started losing their clothes as soon as their mother stopped dressing them. In the end they had to put into bed before the friends arrive because they have lost all the clothes.

Success!

Released on 31st July 2017, the 2017 Tom Kitten 50p coin is one of the Beatrix Potter coins that were minted between 2016 and 2018.

Helen Beatrix Potter was an English author, illustrator, mycologist, and conservationist who is best known for her children's books, which featured animal characters such as Peter Rabbit. You can buy brilliant uncirculated versions from the Royal Mint, as well as a gift silver proof version that comes with a book. The Tale of Tom Kitten is number eight in Beatrix Potter's series of 23 little books, the titles of which are as follows: Somehow there were very extraordinary noises over-head, which disturbed the dignity and repose of the tea party. The coin was designed by Royal Mint employee Emma Noble. For the entire Beatrix Potter series, Noble worked from the author’s original watercolours. Potter herself was a skilled artist and the Royal Mint took great care to replicate the character and subtle complexity of the original work.

All other Potter coins produced that year came in under 1.7 million in mintage. The 2017 Tom Kitten is still less rare than all coins in the 2016 Potter series barring the 2017 Peter Rabbit 50p. I’m afraid they are not well enough to leave their room,’ said their mother lying. ‘They have the measles and are in bed, resting.’ Mrs Tabitha Twitchit didn’t feel like smiling though. When the guests had gone she went up to speak to Tom Kitten. What a sight! Mittens laughed so much that she fell off the wall. The other kittens half fell and half clambered after her. All Tom Kitten’s smart clothes had come off before he reached the bottom.

The coin sits roughly in the middle of the Beatrix Potter series in terms of rarity. For the next year’s Potter series, the Royal Mint decided on minting far less of each design, with The Tailor of Gloucester 50p being the least rare at 3.9 million. Tom Kitten was very fat, and he had grown; several buttons burst off. His mother sewed them on again. This edition of Tom Kitten is different in that the illustrations are not by Beatrix Potter but have been created for the 1990s TV series 'The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends'. This does not detract from the tale or its visual appeal, for the illustrations have their own charm and suit the book perfectly. Faking Another Person's Illness: Tabitha is too embarrassed to admit she's confined her kittens to their room as punishment, so she lies that they have the measles. Once upon a time there were three little kittens, and their names were Mittens, Tom Kitten, and Moppet.Dubay, Debby; Sewall, Kara (2006). Beatrix Potter Collectibles: The Peter Rabbit Story Characters. Schiffer Publishing Ltd. ISBN 0-7643-2358-X. It was all good kitten fun - that is until Mrs T went down the garden only to discover her kittens with no clothes on. 'Just look at you, you are not fit to be seen,' she told the kittens and took them in and sent them upstairs to their bedroom. Tabitha Twitchit took a great deal of care in cleaning and dressing her kittens for their visitors. Was it their fault that the clothes got dirty? Why or why not? My friends will be here at any minute,’ she shouted. ‘And you are not t to be seen. Go straight to your bedroom and stay there!’

Does someone remember the movie Despicable Me made by Disney. One fine movie and it had an adorable scene of the 3 girls being read a book by their despicable and conniving (adopted) father. A Simple Plan: All the kittens had to do was stay neat and clean until Mrs. Twitchit's friends arrived. Being kittens, they manage to fail at this spectacularly. The 2017 Tom Kitten is the rarest Potter coin minted in that year, with 9.5 million produced. This puts it marginally ahead of the 2017 Jeremy Fisher 50p (9.9 million) but well in front of the far more common 2017 Tale of Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny 50p coins, with a mintage of 19.9 million and 25 million respectively. The obverse of the coin features the 2015 coinage portrait of the Queen by Jody Clark, the first Royal Mint employee to create a portrait in 100 years – the practice is usually completed by artists working outside of the Mint. The inscription ‘ELIZABETH II.D.REG.F.D.50 PENCE.2017’ appears around the portrait.
