About this deal

Upon arriving on the planet, the Space Marines were further supported by the 10th Logres regiment led by Colonel Octavius Rabelaq, the 933rd Death Korps of Krieg led by Colonel Trymon Stagler, and the PDF Regiments headed by Major Aries Satria. Lord Inquisitor Kryptman was also present to impart his extensive knowledge of the Tyranids to help the war effort, along with a Deathwatch Kill-team led by Captain Bannon. [4x] This ability seems pretty decent on the field too. Anything that reduces CP costs is usually a good choice in games. Especially if it’s a good stratagem or might get used multiple times in a game. The bionic replacement's only difference with Ventris' organic eye was that it was metallic blue, rather than storm cloud grey. The bionic eye offered Ventris access to a wide variety of new visual spectra, heightened spatial awareness, a more efficient targetting mechanism for his weapons that could interface with his power armour's auto-senses, and visual image capture and storage capabilities. Uriel Ventris is a flexible military commander who due to the efforts of his mentor, Captain Idaeus, learned to think outside the confines of the Codex Astartes, the masterpiece of Roboute Guilliman and the manual of war that most Space Marine Chapters base their tactics, strategy and organisation upon. We’ve known for a while about this fan-favorite character coming to tabletop, however, this will be the first set of rules we’ve seen for him. Let’s go over the model and then dissect the rules.

Captain Uriel Ventris prepares for battle with meditations upon the will of the Emperor of Mankind and his Primarch Roboute Guilliman. A stylish bookmark featuring Ventris’ heraldry and an inspirational quotation from The Swords of Calth completes the set of themed products, and it’s perfect for keeping your place in the book while you get some paint on your Ventris model. If the Tactical Doctrine was active for your army during the previous battle round, you can change it so that the Assault Doctrine is now active. During his conflict with the Iron Warriors, Uriel Ventris was shot in the head by a bolter round fired by his Chaos-corrupted clone, the Newborn, which led to the loss of his right eye. It was later replaced by an augmetic eye created by Magos Biologis Vianco Locard.

He may only have Rapid Fire 1, but the 30″ range makes up for it. -2 AP 2 Damage is also very nice, although S4 means you might only really shoot at Marines with it. High Toughness will prove to be a challenge with such low shots and strength. He also gets access to Bolter Discipline which helps out here if he is stationary, giving you 2 shots at the full 30″ range. The Captain of the 4th ability grants Ventris the Master of the Fleet honorific if he’s included in your Crusade force. Harness the power of Ventris’ strike cruiser, Vae Victus , and rain wrath upon the battlefield in your narrative games!

Liber Xenologis

Crusade is a cool way to play, and is definitely a more casual, fluffy approach, so more rules for it are nice if they don’t take away from the core experience. Newly promoted after the death of his mentor, Captain Ventris leads his warriors to the world of Pavonis, plagued by Drukhari raiders and riven with political infighting. As he unravels a conspiracy, Ventris discovers that an ancient evil lurks beneath the surface of Pavonis, and that not all his allies are quite what they appear. Uriel Ventris is a captain of the Ultramarines Chapter of Space Marines and bravely leads the Fourth Company against the enemies of the Imperium. After breaking faith with the Codex Astartes to win victory against the Tyranids, he was exiled, but he took up command once more upon return to the Chapter. At some point before he attained his Captaincy, Ventris was seconded to the Deathwatch, the Chamber Militant of the Ordo Xenos that specialized in hunting xenos threats. [4x] [5]

The sight of the Blade of Ventanus terrified M'kar, who called it the Shard of Erebus. It is not known whether this blade is one of the eight athames split from the Kinebrach Anathame, the sentient xenos weapon First Chaplain Erebus of the Word Bearers had stolen and then utilised in the plot to poison Horus, eventually turning him into an agent of Chaos. For the first time, add the legendary hero of Graham McNeill's Ultramarines novels to your collection. The model depicts Uriel Ventris in his new guise as a Primaris Space Marine – as seen on the cover of the novel The Swords of Calth – and includes a host of details that fans of the books will recognise, such as white rose of Pavonis. In your games, Uriel Ventris can be used as a Primaris Captain in Ultramarines armies, and his rules are included in the box, with his unique power sword.Ventris went on to become a hero of the Chapter himself, playing a role in most of the major conflicts to consume the Ultramarines in the final years of the 41st Millennium, including a leading part during the Invasion of Ultramar in 999.M41 by the Daemon Prince M'kar the Reborn, the Warsmith Honsou and their army of Iron Warriors Heretic Astartes and other Chaos Space Marine warbands called the Bloodborn.

Ventris assisted Captain Bannon and his team in capturing a Lictor; this proved pivotal during the war, as Kryptman's Magos Biologis aide, Vianco Locard, was able to concoct venom from the Lictor's genetic structure that would send an early generation Tyranid into hyper-evolution, killing the creature. Unfortunately, the only way to utilize this venom effectively was to board the last remaining Hive Ship in orbit and infect the Tyranids' Norn-Queen. [4x] Honsou, faced with capture or death, detonated the explosives the Iron Warriors had previously placed around the Tomb, collapsing the grand edifice of the Tomb on top of himself and his opponents. Uriel and some of his fellow warriors survived and headed to Talassar, an Ultramaran world where M'kar and his Daemon army were close to overrunning Chapter Master Calgar and his dwindling forces. Uriel and other friendly reinforcements arrived in the midst of the final, climactic battle for the world. Ventris tossed the powerful anti-Daemonic Blade of Ventanus to Calgar as the Chapter Master was duelling with M'kar, and Calgar used it to completely annihilate the Daemon Prince.A district of the city has been destroyed in a fiery cataclysm. While dogged investigators rake through the rubble for clues to the catastrophe, some of Varangantua’s more unscrupulous residents take advantage of the distraction to further their own agendas. Each of the seven stories in this volume links these events in some way, building up a picture of a nightmare city gripped by turmoil. German-language readers can continue the epic saga of the Dawn of Fire in the series’ fourth instalment, Throne of Light. Since his boltgun is Rapid Fire, it becomes even more effective if Ventris stays still thanks to Bolter Discipline.
