So, Carnal Urges is the second installment in Geissinger’s Queens & Monsters series and it tells the love story between Sloane Keller and Declan O’Donnell, two people from two different worlds that meet when Declan, who belongs to the Irish mafia, kidnaps Sloane, who supposedly started a war between all his enemies. But Sloane is not the typical kidnapee, she is not afraid and she does not take any shit from anyone. Especially Declan. That surprises him and also is what starts their crazy chemistry. Their banter and sexual tension are turning into something either expected. What will happen when they are forced to face the consequences of that attraction? Both came out in 2016, a year after The Lure, which could well be the best operatic Polish musical about flesh-eating mermaids ever made. And earlier this year we got Fresh, which put Daisy Edgar-Jones at the mercy of a murderous hidden-market butcher to satirise the modern dating scene. these two idiots are so funny 😂 i mean obviously i don't actually want him to murder old ladies for no reason, like declan can stay tf away from my grandma, but the way he said it sjbwkubww. the banter in this book was A1. When Sloane, a 28-year-old yoga instructor visits her best friend Nat, she inadvertently gets caught up in a mafia war. Declan blames Sloane for starting the war and kidnaps her. I laughed throughout this read and melted when Declan’s cold and broody personality finally began to soften. The heroine(s): Sloane - a yoga instructor from Lake Tahoe. Sloane thinks she will never fall in love. She gets bored with men easily and dates a lot. She recently dated a man named Stavros who was in the Russian Mafia. Her best friend is engaged to the new head of the Bratva.

Do you understand me?” The Hero: Declan - he is second to the head of the Irish Mafia and tasked with kidnapping Sloane. He can’t figure her out. She is chatty and unafraid, not to mention the fact that she can defend herself and handle a gun though she has no history of violence or even taking a self defense class. Establish a good relationship with your kidnapper. Form a kinship, a special bond.... by basically talking shit to each other all day. The book begins with a scene that continues from Book 1 so if you haven’t read Book 1, don’t start the series with this one, read Book 1 first. Understand that you and your partner may have different levels of sex drive. You may want to have sex more frequently than your partner. This doesn’t make either of you wrong or right, it is just how you were made. Be honest with yourself and each other about if this can be managed or if this is a deal-breaker for the relationship.

Declan has no clue what he’s in for when he kidnapped this badass yoga instructor. He’s surprised every step of the way at how she’s able to handle it all while being calm. He’s never met anyone like her. The story is told in dual POV, and we get every bit of Declan’s snarky, dirty talking, Irish slang and see him struggle to not want his captive. I really loved the beginning to end of first half of the book when Declan kidnapped Sloane for information and they have this whole "enemies" dynamic going on while Sloane charmes her way into Declan's inner circle. The banter, the sexual tension it worked and then after Declan and Sloane had sex for the first time my interest slowly went down. However, will that be good enough to impress the beautiful goddess who uses and discards men like they are thrashed, or does he accomplish something that no other man has ever done before? Speaking of witless, I'm not in the mood to have a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent. Call me when you grow a brain."

How you appear is really important. Your clothes say a lot about your personality. So assert your dominance by dressing like you came out of a Fairytopia Barbie movie. I have always said that I don’t like mafia romance but I have been reading this series because Ms Geissinger is my favorite writer and I love her writing no matter what. And I want her to stay as my favorite writer but she seems to be going far away from the things I like in her books and using the things I hate in a romance book. OMD (one-sided): one of the h’s bodyguards likes her; he doesn’t really cause a problem, but he has feelings for her Declan didn’t want to be head of the Irish Mob but has suddenly found himself in that position and he blames Sloane for everything. He’s never met a woman like her, a woman that is truly able to face him down with no fear.

Declan is the blue-eyed, handsome devil with an Irish accent to die for. He is possessive, and dominating, and does not like the way Sloane does her things at first. He feels her crawling up his skin, devouring his mind with her charms, and like most other men, he falls in love with her. But he is determined to tame her and would not hesitate to spank her if it came to it-literally. Jt geissinger never fails to hit the mark! It's funny, it's sexy, it's exciting... I loved every minute of this book. And the narration was absolutely second to none. The growly voice of troy duran just does it for me every time 🔥🔥🔥 I'm about to pull the trigger and put a bullet in Declan's head when a female steps out of the car. She opens her eyes and gazes up at me. Cheeks flushed, lips wet, she looks incredible. Satan did a good job when he created her.The side characters are also really good and well developed and it would be nice to see more from them in the future maybe. I thought book 2 was gonna always be my hands-down favorite (Sloane really beats most h’s out there), but dang, book 3 killed my expectations. Plus, seeing previous characters make appearances and have their own chapters added lots of brownie points to this book💁🏻‍♀️. But I digress… Because mental health problems aren’t a choice. You, on the other hand, are deliberately an asshole.” My issues were such as Sloan being a shitty sister. Issues such as her trying to makeover her sister to look like her because anything else is apparently hoboish - to me that’s not another display of Sloans charming confidence but of her being a hypocrite who speaks about instilling confidence and a sense of self in young girls but treats her sister poorly and doesn’t remember messing around with her sisters boyfriend and dismisses it when she’s questioned about it, ”like it’s not big deal, men used to be disposable, I didn’t mean anything by it if I did that”.
