I thought The Eraser was awesome from the day I bought it (which I think was the day, or at least the week of its first release). Its kind of like Radiohead light. It has a similar mood and atmosphere, but its more of a bitesize collection of electronica songs. The glitches and beeps compliment Thom's vocals and the piano work really well. The lyrics are also excellent. "Harrowdown Hill" has very intruiging lyrics about some PM guy who may have been killed but it looked like suicide or something (I know NOTHING about politics, and I never watch the news lol). But I learnt a little something from this, "did he slip or was he pushed?" questions Thom. "Cymbal Rush" is a freakin awesome closer and the album always makes me think, wow Thom really can sing! His vocal performance MAKES this album! He met the future members of Radiohead - Colin and Jonny Greenwood, Ed O'Brien and Phil Selway - at the Abingdon public school in Oxford. Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.Pareles, Jon (9 January 1992). "Grammy Short List: Many For a Few". The New York Times . Retrieved 30 April 2010.

Radiohead were originally called On A Friday. When they signed to the Parlophone label in 1991, they were persuaded to change their name. I felt very sad listening to the song but I couldn't give it some solid meaning. eaten by the worms, thank you so much, I realized why it was. Its a love song. I cant believe thom can write love songs still, he's married, not to mention. Maybe I'm alone in this, but I really wasn't excited about a Thom Yorke solo album. I mean, we've all heard the stories of what Radiohead has been like ever since OK Computer - according to most sources, Thom Yorke has pushed and pulled the band in various directions that other members weren't happy about (at least initially), and only the majority voice from O'Brien, the Greenwoods, and the bald one has kept him in any sort of realm that resembled the Radiohead of yesteryear. There are moments on Kid A and Amnesiac that felt like the solo meanderings of Yorke, and they're frankly the worst songs in Radiohead's catalogue. I Might Be Wrong, for me the most revealing moment in Radiohead's catalogue, gives weight to that theory. Observe how "Like Spinning Plates", a useless, boring doodle, is transformed into a thing of majestic beauty when the other 4 get their hands on it. Michaels, Sean. "Radiohead's Thom Yorke announces two solo songs". The Guardian . Retrieved 2 October 2015. The Eraser debuted at number three in the UK Albums Chart and stayed in the top 100 for ten weeks. [28] In the United States, it debuted at number two on the Billboard 200, selling more than 90,000 copies in its first week. [29] "Harrowdown Hill" was released as a single on 21 August, reaching number 23 on the UK Singles Chart, [30] followed by "Analyse" on 6 November. [31] The Eraser was followed by a compilation of B-sides, Spitting Feathers, [32] and a 2008 album of remixes by various artists, The Eraser Rmxs. [33]

Funny off kilter piano lines. "Hey, I've got this new piano line but I want people to think I'm original.""Hm, have you tried recording it to CD and scratching the disc up real bad and seeing how that sounds?""No, I haven't, thanks Aphex Twin for the advice which I'll borrow until I can think on my own for a minute." Lea, Tom (28 January 2013). "A new career in a new town: Radiohead's Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich open Pandora's box and run amok as Atoms for Peace". Fact . Retrieved 2 May 2015.
