Our Secret is a type of youth drama that would bring you down memory lane. It emits a nostalgic feeling if you have left school because of the realistic portrayal of a student’s life. High school and campus romances tend to be a bore because of the repetitive storylines. But this one is a rare exception because the way the story is told will draw you in to follow the couple’s progress and growing up pains. There is no exaggeration to take away the seemingly ordinary life of the protagonists. This is what gives the drama a healthy dose of realism. Though Si Yue is portrayed as the school genius and basically this popular guy who is good in everything he does (typical school romance plot right?), but the way the character is acted out is not unrealistic at all. He is not the typical cold blooded, cool guy who is unapproachable. Well, the romance was a bit slow burn but it didn’t make the story less interesting. In fact, I was enjoying Zhou Si Yue and Ding Xian’s interactions in high school. Their characters were lovable and cute. Zhou Si Yue and Ding Xian hid their feelings for many years. I guess that was what “Our Secret” was all about. They had to keep it to themselves because they were students and they had a bigger goal ahead of them. Also, they understand that their parents put so many expectations on them, that they can’t ignore them.

The Storytelling: The Sweet Formula.Zhou Si Yue and Ding Xian’s high school days are filled with 曖昧 ( ai-mei) – a relationship more intimate than friends. He’s forward and she’s shy; they always find a way to communicate their misunderstandings. Halfway through the drama, our relationship flips! It’s Ding Xian actively pursuing Zhou Si Yue, slaughtering his tender heart with her cute bravery. Last third of the drama, the drama flips again and it’s Zhou Si Yue pursuing Ding Xian! I don’t see how a romance drama can fail when both of them are so cute and so active and so flirtatious in their pursuit of one another.Ding Xian’s intelligence seemed to be average, but she was diligent and willing to spend her time reviewing her lessons. That’s why she got a good grades in junior high school. Ding Xian’s life only revolves around her family and school. There were no junior high school friends mentioned, except for her senior or childhood friend or neighbor, Su Bo Cong. By the time they reached senior high school, they already have unspoken feelings for each other. They have also made a pact to enter a prestigious university together. However, Ding Xian couldn’t get enough marks to get into the same university as Si Yue. She opts to repeat another year at high school which means separation for both of them. She makes it the following year but Si Yue seems no longer interested in her. Our Secret Ending (Spoilers Alert!) Ding Xian is Si Yue’s new neighbor and classmate at school. They also happen to sit next to each other in class. Ding Xian is an introvert. She is timid but can be very determined once she decides on a course of action. She also likes to draw and has a talent for it. Her father is a teacher at her school. Her mother is a housewife and a very strict parent. Ding Xian also has a mischievous younger brother, Ding Jun Cong. Supporting Characters Song Zi Qi Sweet interactions between the male lead and female lead. How Si Yue is protective of Ding Xian, how he looks at her and how they both constantly support each other.

Rewatch and rewatch Never expected this drama to be so good. Everybody has such good chemistry and the plot is so good. Bear in mind that this is a school/youth genre, so don't expect too much crazy plot twists or strong villains. Sha Di is Ding Xian’s best friend and classmate at school. She has known Zi Qi since they were kids and has feelings for him. Su Bo Cong / Senior Su Our Secret’s story mainly focused on our main leads, Ding Xian and Zhou Si Yue, and the people around them. The circle was quite small and there weren’t many stories about the supporting roles. Even though their lives change from high school to college, Our Secret mostly tells us about their high school life. Too Many Conflicts h) was set to be married in two days, until everything goes downhill and she discovers that her fiance married her step-sister instead. All out of funds and nowhere to live, her brother has the bright idea of calling his best friend 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐞 (H) to help her out of the situation. She has always had this love hate relationship with him and are each other’s safety nets when they need someone to confide in. When they rekindle their friendship now that they are roommates, old feelings and memories resurface. eps seem too short for the first time! "Our Secret" is a drama with a good plot, lovable characters and excellent acting. the actors in this drama aren't that famous (edit: this was before hidden love) but their acting is really good; definitely how a high schooler would behave, in my opinion. it's fast paced with little or no filler scenes so overall it was a good watch. it felt so nostalgic (even tho I haven't finished my high school yet).

the FL did an excellent job in expressing a desk-mate who gradually falls in love with someone who she never thought she would and thinks he doens't reciprocate her feelings. she portrayed a girl chasing her love in a charming way and we can't help but root for this cute couple pairing.
