Yes, I loved the Raphael/Illium relationship. It was touching. And I loved seeing who Raphael was when he was young—not as young as he’d been when Isis held him; powerful, an archangel, but younger and softer. Michael is the only Archangel to appear within each book of the main Abrahamic faiths: The Bible, the Torah, and the Qur’an. He is the angel of protection and the most powerful Archangel. Leader of the Angelic realm, including the other Archangels. Archangel Haniel is known as the ‘Grace of God’. He holds a connection to your life force energy. This allows him to help guide you to higher vibrational levels through changing your life practices e.g. eating higher vibrational foods or avoiding habits that lower your vibrational energy. Archangels do appear in many other faiths. For example, in the Quran, Michael is again mentioned, as is Gabriel. We also see Israfel, who is considered to be an Islamic Archangel. However, Archangels appear in a variety of different forms. Different religions have similar figures that simply aren’t referred to as Archangels. vi. Illium and Jason. But on the other hand, jumping forward in time even 50 or 100 years might mean most of the mortals we now know would be dead, except perhaps children like Maggie, Zoe and Eve. Elena’s “Gotta keep my hand in,” was good to see too, I was starting to feel that the hunter in her was being sublimated in the last few books, so that was important. The little small issue that came up with me is that all of a sudden relatives have the same face (two people in this book alone), it bugged me a little. I hope she will write another book with the same couple, it will be interesting to read. These chapters alternate with others set during their childhood and youth. We see them meet as small angels (so cute; they call each other “Spark” and “Blue”). One is shy and the other gregarious, and that makes each the perfect person to grow up with for the other. Illium brings Aodhan out of his shell and Aodhan settles Illium. They practice flying together, discover their dreams together. And when each one is shattered by an emotional blow, his best friend is there for him.In the book of Revelation 12:7, I quote “A war started in the heaven and Michael, together with his angels, fought the dragon and his angels”. The dragon, in this case, is Satan and Michael is leading in the front by waging war to the devil and his followers.We can also see Michael fighting the devil to protect a woman and her young son. In this case, Michael is fighting with the help of some angels and the devil is in “dragon” form. 2. Okay, so, if we take it as a given that Illium will ascend soon, that has the potential to flip a lot of the game pieces on this board. Depending on what Nalini Singh does with it, of course. I loved how, when he tells Elena he is going to fight dirty to hold onto Aodhan in the first chapter, he says “I have told Suyin I am sending her more help. I am a kind fellow archangel.” That little bit of dry irony was marvelous. It’s such a great moment and encapsulates so much of Raphael’s character. He’s a good guy but not 100%. Every time you think he’s human, he reminds you that he isn’t quite–that he’s not above flexing his power overhanded-ly or underhandedly. What it takes to bring about what’s needed. And that he has a lot of power to flex. These are just theories. The only piece I’m pretty confident of here is that part of Jinhai/Quon came from the village and the other part from Lijuan’s energy.In the book of Daniel 12: 1, the scripture says that Michael will stand up on that time as he is the prince who watches over the descendants of your people. The plot was interesting. The new character at the center of the mystery is incredibly tragic. I hate to imagine how much more evil Lijuan will cause even from the grave. I think Suyin handled the situation very well and will make a strong archangel.
