You can improve your first layer by tuning the Z offset. This is a value that essentially tells your printer how far to move the Z-axis from the Z endstops – in other words, from the bed.
The printer is printing soooo good. It took a few weeks to learn all the tweaks you can do in Cura. Now I am printing models to small and with such level of details that I am happy I did not choose another brand.
Many users have been having issues due to odd folder setups on their computers. If you do not follow the below advice the firmware may have issues compiling. In addition, the Ender 3 S1 Plus includes the same automatic bed leveling capability found on many modern Creality machines, and has an easy-to-use touchscreen control interface. Overall, this printer is solid, reliable, and a great choice for printing larger functional parts or models. When making your settings, however, bear in mind that higher filling densities also mean longer printing times. So you need to find the balance of strength, print time, and material usage that works best for you and what the object will be used for.The print bed on the CR-10 Smart Pro is a PEI spring steel sheet that is attached magnetically to the printer. Of the bed materials we've tested, PEI is one of our favorites. It offers plenty of adhesion during printing but also makes it easy to remove the print once it's complete. In terms of bed leveling, an included CR-Touch sensor enables automatic bed leveling, which is a feature that definitely improves the reliability of the printer and simplifies bed leveling. The Sprite direct drive extruder is the same one you’ll find on the Ender 3 S1, and it has proven to be extremely reliable under extended use for our 3D printing business. We have had our S1 for over a year and have not had to perform any repairs on the printer, making this extruder notably more reliable than older Bowden extruders. The direct drive extruder is also a great choice if you are looking to print flexible materials, which are notoriously difficult on Bowden extruders. The Ender 3 Max Neo was released in 2022, and adds some significant improvements to the Ender 3 Max, which is already a great machine. In addition to the Ender 3 Max features of and improved power supply, quieter motor drivers, and a durable metal extruder assembly, it also includes auto bed leveling and an improved hot end cooling system to reduce jamming. In the configuration.h file there are printer models you can uncomment to tell the firmware what machine you are setting it up for. Uncomment means removing the // in front of a setting and you will be left with #define XXXXXX if an option is enabled. In Cura you have the choice between three different auxiliary constructions for the print bed adhesion. You can print a skirt, brim or raft before the actual printing begins.
Most notably, the CR-M4 includes Creality's Sprite direct-drive extruder, which we've been very pleased with on our other 3D printers. It's paired with a volcano-style hotend that can heat up to 300°C, which improves the printer's ability to print at higher speeds or with larger layer heights--things that will reduce printing time for larger models. This combination also means the CR-M4 can print almost any common 3D printing filament type, including flexible filaments such as TPU and high-temperature filaments such as nylon. The design and features of the Creality K1 Max put it in a different class than most of Creality’s other 3D printers, and this will definitely feel like a more modern machine. Of course, its price matches the premium feature set, making it one of the more expensive printers from Creality. If you’re open to a more hands-on 3D printing experience and don’t mind printing more slowly, a machine such as the Ender 3 S1 Plus offers a similar build volume and print quality at a much lower price. But if you want the most capable printer in this size class with the most advanced feature set, the Creality K1 Max is the right choice. The Creality Ender-5 Pro has a large build area considering its low price. As a kit, it takes a fairly easy few hours to assemble. Its print quality tops that of many 3D printers in its price range. Its main flaw is that, as with many printers limited to manual bed-leveling, getting and keeping the print bed properly calibrated can be a headache. Originally I wanted something smaller, like the Ender 3. I went for Ender 5 because of the frame structure and because the bed is only moved down while printing and the head does all the movement necessary for printing. Once you locate the .bin file for your board copy this to your SD card. This SD card MUST be formatted with FAT or FAT32 file system and most boards prefer a 4096 allocation byte size. Smaller cards (16GB or less) are better to use than larger ones for the best compatibility. If you have multiple .bin files listed, choose the one with the latest time & date on it. The Creality Ender 5 Pro is a powerful budget 3D printer with virtually unlimited upgrade possibilities. It is able to produce good quality parts out of the box but with the right mods, it can turn into a 3D printing workhorse capable of delivering outstanding prints comparable to the ones produced by higher-end devices.The following list includes some of the accessories you should 3D print to improve your printer functionality. Both the top and the bottom frames along with the Z-axis come pre-assembled. You’ll only have to assemble the cubic structure by screwing the top and base frames to the vertical aluminum profiles. During this step, take care of the correct orientation of the profiles before tightening up the bolts. The filling density, or the infill, determines how much material is inside the 3D print. This allows you to adjust the stability to your purposes. These settings do not depend on the 3D printer you use, only on your components. Reinforced Frame - Like the CR-10 Max, the CR-6 Max includes two rods to stabilize the tall Z axis, which prevents wobbling and quality issues on tall prints
