Next, add your milk to a pitcher jug and steam the milk using either the hot air nozzle on your espresso machine or the microwave. The rant: Vanilla is NOT grown in France and France has nothing to do with vanilla production. Vanilla comes from the seeds of a vanilla orchid (vanilla planifolia) and is produced in Latin America (primarily Mexico) and Madagascar. The term "French Vanilla" is an imperialist marketing term using the notion that France = Quality. The same can be said with "French" and "Italian" roasts. Those countries have little to do with dark roast coffee besides consuming it. It's time we stop using eurocentric naming conventions because they have a vague association with high class and quality. I should say I have nothing against France and Italy, both are beautiful countries with a rich and long history and culture. However, tieing them to products that they have nothing to do with in present day takes the value and appreciation away from where it is deserved and it isn't fair or right that if you were to take the same vanilla and label it as "French Vanilla" and "Mexican Vanilla" that the one labeled French would sell more and probably at a higher price. Yes, you sure can. As I mentioned previously, commercially made syrups are simply water, dissolved sugar, and flavoring (typically one-to-one). Making your own coffee syrup is actually pretty damn easy, and they can be flavored with almost anything.

Try on oatmeal: Drizzle on classic oatmeal, Instant Pot oatmeal, overnight oats, steel cut oats, or baked oatmeal French Vanilla is a universally popular flavor, making it a safe and reliable choice for any food or beverage business. It’s a flavor that pairs well with a wide variety of drinks and dishes, making it a versatile and cost-effective choice for any menu. Plus, our syrup is made with the highest-quality ingredients, ensuring consistent, top-notch flavor every time. Use regular white sugar or cane sugar. You can use brown sugar but it’s a little slower to dissolve. Dolce syrups are ideal for coffee, desserts, or even adding to sodas adding just enough sweetness or flavor to each sip or bite. Their 35 plus syrups are sugar-free and even carb-free, making them the perfect choice for those watching what calories you eat but looking to sweeten and flavor your coffee. Best Coffee Syrups For Your CoffeeYes, and no. These are better suited for use as an ice cream topping or drizzled over a pancake rather than in coffee. Someone could use these sauces at a push in a cold iced coffee-based drink. Add the vanilla bean paste once the simple syrup is off of the heat to ensure it retains the most flavor! I do not recommend using vanilla extract on its own as a replacement for vanilla syrup; it’s not sweet and the vanilla flavor will likely be overpowering. How to Make Vanilla Bean Simple Syrup You can use it immediately in coffee or tea, or store it to have when you’re ready to use it. Note that if you are using it in a cold beverage, I would recommend letting it cool, at least slightly, so it doesn’t warm your drink too much. Storage Of course, vanilla syrup isn’t just for coffee! There are loads of great ways to use this tasty syrup for breakfast or desserts. Here are a few ways to get creative with homemade vanilla syrup:

Don’t cook the vanilla extract since it can lose flavor. Only add it at the end after the dissolved sugar and water is off the heat. Vanilla extract comes from fresh vanilla beans that are grown in tropical climates such as Madagascar, Mexico and West Africa (the island of Reunion). The beans are harvested, dried and then sold to extract producers who extract the vanilla flavor using a variety of methods, including heat and water extraction. I never said that French vanilla and vanilla syrups taste the same. I merely asked what, if any, the differences between commercially produced vanilla and French vanilla syrups were and what people thought about them.

Serving size will vary depending on how much syrup you use per drink, etc. This recipe yields approximately 3/4 cup of syrup. Doubling it to 1 cup of sugar will result in about 1 1/2 cups of simple syrup. This vanilla bean syrup isn’t just for coffee (hot or iced in cold brew), but that’s where the story begins. I took one sip of my homemade vanilla latte, made with this syrup, and was floored. It was perfection. It was sweet – but not overly so – with a silky texture and vanilla – real vanilla! – infused throughout. Both types of ice cream have a similar composition as far as the ingredients and fat content is concerned. Both contain sugar, milk solids, skim milk powder and butter oil or vegetable oil which gives it a rich texture and flavor. Vanilla Bean: another, probably more technical, way is to use an actual vanilla bean pod. While this is a wonderful route to take, vanilla bean pods are the most expensive route to take, and it will take longer to infuse into the syrup. They’re also balanced well, with the perfect amount of sugars (or sweetener) to complement the taste of the coffee. Agave Syrup
