About this deal

They’re capable of handling a very high sound pressure level, and the rotatable capsule for single-ear listening makes for ideal monitoring headphones. The sound they make is super clear, so I can hear every little detail in the music, which is just what I need when I’m mixing tunes.

Capable of handling very high sound pressure levels and of extremely robust construction, these headphones perform exceptionally well in loud environments, e.g. ENG, sound reinforcement, studio monitoring and audio equipment testing. Ideal monitoring headphones for cameramen and DJs, these are a pair of true sound professionals’ working headphones. Since 1982, PCMag has tested and rated thousands of products to help you make better buying decisions. See how we test. With a low weight and a one-ear listening option, the HD25 headphones from Sennheiser are a must-have for most DJs and studio owners. Are you thinking of reviewing that last one? I would love to know the differences in sound between these two and there is not much available on them as of yet.t The HD 25 PLUS is our legendary HD 25 headphone with coiled cable, an additional straight cable, a second set of ear cushions and a protective pouch The sound is clear, loud, and reliable, so you know exactly what you’re producing at any given moment. Additionally, while the padding and comfort aren’t great, you do get a lightweight and durable design that’s difficult to beat. The mechanism holding the headband and earcup together can also loosen over time. Style and comfort

Sure, these iconic DJ headphones are a bit low-key than the flashing LED headsets and neon-colored cans we’ve seen elsewhere on the market. However, they look professional enough that you shouldn’t worry too much. Here at Sennheiser we use dynamic microphones for distortion measurements on loudspeakers at very high sound pressure levels. At Sennheiser we have measured the SPL and THD inside a large 2" driver/horn combination with a MD 421. The max SPL this combination was able to produce was 150 dB and the THD level recorded by a MD 421 was below 1% (produced by the driver not by the mic) These were my first DJ headphones. They are virtually weightless and extremely flexible. I could wear them a couple of hours at a time and not be in agony. Even, clear sound - not the bassiest choice you can make for sound though.so you actually like this better than the m100? thats a surprise, how about comparing this to the new t51p mike ? I think they are both extremely comparable to each other as an on ear headphone at this price range Mike, would you say these are the best portable headphones for electronic music so far? TMAs, M-100, other DJ headphones seem to be direct competitors, as are Ampeior and old 25s. M-100 seems to have a much wider soundstage, at least. The HD 25 DJ headphones from Sennheiser are probably the best on the market. They're tough and ... [+] light, ideal for long session. Sennheiser

These models offer the same sound signature as the legendary HD 25 and sound signature of the headphones is the same across the three models. The HD-25 headphones have never been considered comfortable headphones for extended listening sessions. They are fine up to the 3-4 hour mark but you would want to take a break for 15 minutes or so before continuing. The main reason for this is also what makes them so good at isolating you from your external environment. That is the clamping force. The Sennheiser has a very strong clamping force that binds them tightly to your head and that combined with the on-ear earpads can cause pressure build-up. Created with a focus on exceptional performance, the HD25 headphones are unlike anything else on the market. The sound produced by the HD 25 can best be described as lively. It’s a superbly open and accurate sound with a frequency range that starts at a wonderfully low 16Hz and goes all the way up to 22kHz. Unlike headphones designed for mixing, the HD 25 do not have a flat response thanks to a noticeable boost in the midrange that pushes the sound forward and gives it extra punch. The result is a superbly tight bass and a sound that feels much larger and more energetic than the compact drivers would suggest. In terms of headphone specs, it’s hard to argue with the Sennheiser HD 25’s design, even several years after the cans were first released. The Sennheiser HD25 headphones remain as popular today as they’ve ever been. Known around the world for incredible reliability and performance, these headphones are unlikely to disappear any time soon. Thank you for your advice. But can the Aedle compete with K3003 quality wise? I know that K3003 do cost. How do you mean easier to appreciate? I also wonder what you would recommend otherwise, as well as if I should invest in IEM or headphones? I mainly listen to classical as well as opera, jazz, acoustic and old folk. From Philip Glass, Steve Reich to Billie Holiday and Moving Star Hall Singers. Thanks again MIke, I’m sorry to bother you with all of these questions. Once again, although the comfort of the Sennheiser HD25 headset isn’t ideal in general, you’re likely to face additional discomfort when messing with the cans. Pros and Cons
