About this deal

One of our favourite things about this vacuum was the clever charging stand, which has a progress bar for battery life. It's a lifesaver if you can't drill a holder into your walls, and makes the whole appearance of this vacuum look more sleek. If your biggest needs for a portable carpet cleaner are price, portability and performance, the Hoover CleanSlate is a tough act to beat. The Miele Complete C3 Cat & Dog vacuum lives up to its name, with a turbo brush floor head for whipping up pet (and human) hair, as well as a regular carpet floor head and another for hard floors. It is most definitely one of the top pet vacuumson the market, which is how it earned its place in this list. Emptying: There’s a distinction to be made between bagless vacs and those which still have the traditional bag system. While bagless systems might be a little riskier with the mess, brands such as Dyson have engineered clever trigger systems so that you can aim for your bin better. Bagged systems are more expensive and arguably fussier.

Debbie did an amazing job of helping me clear lots of space in my wardrobe and organise our bedroom storage in general. Features: Aside from simply cleaning your floors, plenty of vacuums have extra features to make them worth your investment. That includes additional brush, crevice and pet tools, as well as attachments to help you clean your car. Other models have varying settings when it comes to power, so you can go turbo when you need to. If you or a family member struggle with allergies, a HEPA filter can help you keep allergens at bay too. With this Dyson, you're shelling out for innovation, with the hard floor head boasting lasers that illuminate dirt and dust that you'd never usually see - a cleaning enthusiast's dream. The anti-tangle feature on the Digital MotorbarTM (the head for carpet cleaning) works as well as offerings from Shark and revealed a huge amount of sunken-in dirt during our at-home tests. The three modes are absolutely perfect for toggling between everyday and deep cleaning too. Your vacuum path is illuminated by LED lights, and the vacuum even hinges with an elbow attachment that folds down to reach underneath sofas and beds with less bending work for you. This is like Shark's Flexology function, which we're big fans of. The price is incredibly reasonable for this Dyson-rival, and we also liked the stand that came included, which made storage straightforward thanks to the on-board tool storage. Our one gripe? That 0.8 litre dustbin fills up fast. But the Revolution is very expensive, and the extra cleaning power comes with one major downside: it’s gigantic. By itself, the Revolution weighs 22.5 pounds (around five pounds heavier than comparable upright cleaners), and a full water tank adds an additional eight pounds to the cleaner. Plus, the Revolution doesn’t have features like a semi-articulated handle to help displace this additional weight. If you’re a smaller person or regularly moving the cleaner between floors, the Revolution’s bulk will be an added burden. There were three modes to choose from: Eco, Auto, and Boost, and each one resulted in a different noise level and suction. All three settings held up very well in testing, and will be great for catering to different types of homes.

The run time is up to 60 minutes, which is pretty impressive for a cordless vacuum and the 1.7-litre capacity is absolutely excellent if you want a cordless vacuum for a family home. During testing the large vacuum head was noticeably excellent for covering a larger surface area in less time. Accessories Included : 2-in-1 Antimicrobial Bristle Brush and Rubber Nub Tool, Cleaning Solution, Measuring Cup Testing several of the vacuums included in this round-up has allowed her to see which model excels at which task, and to judge them on all of the crucial factors of suction, as well as ease of use and storage, which is important in her very compact space. She's also constantly looking out for the newest vacuum releases and technology so that she can keep you better informed on which appliance to buy. This Shark vacuum boasts a large capacity and a self-cleaning brush roll for all floor types. Our Ecommerce Editor Molly tried this vacuum out at home for a number of months and found it was totally unbeatable when it came to achieving a deep clean. The suction power is remarkably impressive, and there are plenty of great features that just make this vacuum better to use. Smooth glide wheels and those ever-handy LED lights are a total winner here. But the Power Scrub’s handling can take some getting used to — the cleaner’s handle section consists of the clean water tank and a thinner plastic portion that hovers over the dirty water tank like a turtle shell. The tube is long but telescopic, making this a good cleaner for tall and short people alike. We loved it for its straightforward cleaning power. Its suction is outstanding thanks to a powerful, fast (more than 100km/h) cyclone. The single cyclone design also makes for low noise and controllable power. The cylinder moves smoothly on its castors and perches acceptably on a stair, though it's not the easiest to clean this section of the house with. We also prioritized usability and design during our evaluations. Models that were easy to carry around, clean and maintain earned the best marks throughout our testing. Debbie has great sensitivity towards the feelings of others. On a number of occasions she went to speak with neighbours to explain to them what was going on and to thank them for their assistance, she even bought a particularly helpful neighbour a box of chocolates. The experience was life -changing... I now feel I can breathe again and my work life balance has been restored. The LCD display allows you to switch between the carpet brush and hard floor brush with the touch of a button thanks to Shark's DuoClean, which is a real time-saver for homes with a mix of floor types.

To find the best portable and upright carpet cleaners, we tested all nine models for more than a month and ran them through a gamut of cleaning scenarios. Liquid spillages, food spillages and watermarks are the most common issues when it comes to cleaning a slate hearth. It is important that any spillages are cleaned up as soon as possible using dilute, hot soapy water. This will help to prevent any liquids, or oil from foods soaking into the slate and causing a stain. Follow the same advise as a weekly clean when it comes to cleaning any spillages or watermarks.

Pets — they may be your best friend, but they’re your carpet’s worst enemy (and if you have young kids, you know they’re a close second). If your children or pets are constantly dirtying up your carpet, you might want to add a carpet cleaner to your regular cleaning routine. If anything goes wrong with your cleaner, the SmartWash+ comes with an extended five-year warranty. It has one of the widest cleaning heads we tested at 12 inches, an inch wider than the Bissell ProHeat, and it’s 0.5-gallon dirty water tank was a bit larger than the Bissel’s 0.4-gallon tank. A 22-foot power cord and 8-foot attachment hose give you plenty of room to work.
