About this deal

The Moondrop Aria Snow Edition comes with a High-Purity Silver-Plated OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) detachable cable with 2-Pin connectors. The cable has a transparent insulation that shows a minimal microphonic effect. listening on monitors or headphones. But if you’re listening on a laptop or a phone, there’s no way you will hear The Aria Snow Edition is another gorgeous looking IEM from Moondrop with its beautiful Snowflake faceplate design. It follows the companies popular VDSF target frequency response, which is a safe, balanced and pretty enjoyable tuning, produced with its latest DLC diaphragm dynamic driver. The competitive pricing, esthetic design and balanced sound profile do make the Aria Snow Edition to an easy to recommend earphone. Imaging is great with both, but bass and mids have better layering and sharper separation with HZM. The metal shell was made with a metal injection molding and CNC carving process However, the main difference is the Moondrop’s new DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) diaphragm dual-cavity dynamic driver that replaced the 10mm diameter LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer) diaphragm that was used inside the Aria 2021.

The subbass of the Hidizs MM2 shows slightly more quantity and depth than those of the Moondrop Aria Snow Edition. The midbass region of the MM2 is more highlighted that sounds more impactful and entreating with genres like EDM, Trance or Pop music. The Aria Snow Edition on the other hand has the slightly edge when it comes to the authority and clarity in this area. Human hearing focuses inherently on this frequency range. So it’s crucial to get this range right. This region Does scale with better source, best to pair with some dynamic dac such as Questyle’s M15 or Tri TK2 to give the top end a little more energy if you prefer above 10 kHz. This is where we have air and this is where we get a sense of shine and sparkle in our music. Both In-Ear Monitors do offers a fairly precise placement and separation of instruments and vocals. The Aria Snow Edition has the slightly edge when it comes to the depth of the stage, while both IEM’s do have a relative similar performance when it comes to the wideness of the soundstage. All products sold on Headphone Zone carry a GST compliant invoice and all products sold include an 18% GST. Treble is smooth and not fatiguing to listen to despite being slightly more energetic,no sibilance or harshness at all The Mids are neutral and more transparent, both Aria are well tuned in this but I think the SE is just a little better. Imaging is without a doubt superior with the Snow, more accurate due to more transparent sounds layers and sharper static definition of instrument positioning, as well, separation have cleaner space.

The Moondrop Aria Snow Edition has a fairy linear bass response from the subbass up to the midbass area. It offers a good grade of authority and speed in this region especially in for an In-Ear Monitor at this price tag. The subbass region is moderately pronounced and slightly less highlighted compared to the midbass region. The Aria Snow Edition offers a sufficient level of depth and intensity, while wont show enough rumble for bass heavy genres like EDM, Bassline, Dubstep, Trance, etc. The built quality is really good, it fits well in my ears but u have to try out other tips and choose ones which fits you properly Aria Snow Edition might not be marketed as an upgrade to 2021 Aria, but to me they are definitely an upgrade for me because I like how it sounds compared to 2021 Aria. Although many favoured the 2021 Aria, they are too “safe” sounding to me and nothing really stands out no matter what kind of mod you put on it,cable rolling, eartips, filter change etc etc.All in all, the Snow sound more technical and have cleaner resolution but isn’t as immersive and musical to my ears as the lusher and more energic Topaz. Mids are clearer-cleaner and more present in definition with the Snow, but leaner in dynamic and bit thinner in vocal timbre, especially male vocal which are more bodied and upfront with the KAI, for female vocal, its a bit more shouty and fatiguing. With fast busy music the Snow keep its clarity and accuracy unlike Kai that can go messy and unbalanced, especially if their heavy bass line or hit. This dynamic part is always hard to explain, but let say Moondrop tend to be light in weighty impact, especially in mid range which seem tamed in loudness scaling, since bass is light too here, dynamic is more felt in upper range, which tend to be more open, airy and edgy-snappy-bity. The 0.78mm diameter 2-Pin connectors to have a transparent plastic housing with R (Right) & L (Left) markings and a red color indicator ring for the right channel. Near the connectors are PVC heat-shrink ear guides that are useful for a comfortable over the ear wearing experience. Good amount of air hence the music doesn’t sound too “congested” and contributed to a soundstage presentation

Every time you reach for earphone/IEM cables to connect them to your earphones/IEM, no matter how neatly you "wrapped" them up, they end up in a giant Gordian knot of frustration. Tangled cables are the bane of modern existence, and everyone owning a wired pair of earphones/IEM can attest to this. The Moondrop Aria Snow Edition came inside a rectangular box in white color with a nice Snowflake motive on the top, which was wrapped with a stylish cardboard with the Snow Edition theme on its surface. At the end of the frequency spectrum, we get to the Air region or the Top End. This region consists of everything The treble range of the Moondrop Aria Snow Edition is slightly more crisp, energetic and detailed than those of the Ikko OH2. The upper treble region of the Ikko OH2 has an audible roll-off around the 10 kHz region, which is the reason while the Aria Snow Edition shows a bit more airiness in this area. The lower midrange is moderately highlighted when I listen to male vocals or to instruments such like a viola or guitar. The upper midrange is the focal point of the Moondrop Aria Snow Edition that is produced with a decent sense of clarity and resolution when I do listen to instruments like a violin, piano or flute or to female voices like Adel or Aretha Franklin. I didn’t notice any remarkable sibilance or harshness, which is another remarkable highlight of the Aria Snow Edition.
