About this deal

Well, we’ll see! I think tomorrow I’m going to pull the cards that represent my birth chart placements and see what that tells me! Scorpio really gets a bad rap; I feel sorry for Scorpio suns. I don’t own up to any manipulation, that’s just not me. I don’t really have hidden depths, not as they relate to other people, anyway. Now, being victim of manipulation, I can definitely relate. Maybe that’s the connection: it took me much too long to figure out what was going on there! Book says interest in psychology and mysticism, exploring hidden secrets of life. That sounds more like me! Living well is the best revenge? Be very careful not to ever try to keep up with the Joneses. My abundance isn’t the same as everyone else’s. But I’m thinking I shouldn’t use oracles two weeks in a row! I’m starting to have tarot withdrawal!

The Health card not only represents one’s health but also everyday work. Sun in Virgo rules the sixth house of the Zodiac. (house 6 also rules small animals) The Theme card for female L highlights her physical well-being. It is quite possible she will at some point during the Reading forecast adopt a new health related regime. This card also means that female L may be involved with finely detailed aspects of her job such as more organization, cataloguing or editing content (paperwork). One’s health is affected by one’s every day work. If you are overworked the stress can affect your general health. It affects sleep, nutrition and attitude. Someone else’s health could be a worry. Mercury in Libra: Influence. The coiled serpent's tongue is the astrological sigil for the planet Mercury. It represents smooth talk, guile, persuasion and temptation. In the first relationship, Adam and Eve walk in the garden, unaware of danger. Beneath the roses, thorns." For the Sun in Sagittarius ‘Enthusiasm’ pictured above, the card image description reads, “A bright intelligent head haloed by the sun sits at the top of a traditional alchemical jar. Within a jar, a figure floats among the stars, sun and moon.” The Jupiter in Aries ‘Enterprise’ artwork also pictured above is described, “The hand diagram of the chiromancers shows the complete set of planetary qualities. Jupiter’s nature in palmistry is to denote the achievement of enterprise and ambition, where full use is made of all talents available. The acorns are simply the seeds of potential.” The book is rather comprehensive and not very large, which means the text is very, very small. All cards get two or more paragraphs of text. The second or last paragraph includes the interpretation. Below is the interpretation for the Sun in Aries: So what happened? I sat down at my desk today and started doing the spreads included in the book. As is often the case, cards look different laid out in spreads. Or maybe it’s just that I look at them differently. In any case, seeing them in spreads and reading the explanation for the artistic choices made on each card changed everything. Suddenly, the artwork that I thought was “meh” came to life and I managed to get my head around what I was looking at. All of a sudden I thought they were brilliant. In general, the artwork of these cards is very abstract, but also in some cases very graphic, especially the Lovers (or Choice, as Ms. Smith names it). I would therefore not recommend it for very young Tarot users or for the “sensitive” viewer who is easily upset by graphic nudity. Nevertheless, the cards are beautifully illustrated: devotees of abstract art are most likely to find the images appealing. As an astrologer, I was dubious about what the cards could do when I first got them. I have come to love their imagery and the many ways to work with them. The sample year readings provided are great and useful for working with clients as a complement to progression, transits and solar return readings. I have also used them working with a client to pin down an ascendant or moon placement when they aren’t sure of their birthtime. I cannot recommend these cards highly enough for Tarot readers, practiced or astrologers-in-training, those curious about planetary and house meanings or simply lovers of beautiful objects! As for the cards themselves, as I say they are rich in imagery and symbolism. There are realistic, Victorian-style images both pastoral and urban. There are symbols from Judaism and Islam, as well as Christian imagery. There are elements from Egyptian culture, as well as Greek myths and art. There are some picture-book elements, too, but always within the theme of elements which a Victorian might put on cards. The colours remain fairly pastel throughout, but with a lot of variety. However, don’t worry if that’s not your thing. As the creators point out, you can still gain a lot just by integrating the keywords associated with each planet, house and sign. Whatever your personal approach, if astrology interests you then the Oracle of the Radiant Sun is well worth a look. The Elemental Tarot is so named for its use of the four elements, earth, air, fire, water, and then the fifth, holistic Universe element represented by the Major Arcana. For the Minor Arcana, the element earth refers to pentacles, air to swords, fire to wands, and water to cups. The symbols for the elements are at the very bottom of every card. The holistic Element for the Major Arcana is represented by an oval, Water by a half moon turned on its side to take the form of a cup or bowl, Earth by a square, Air by a circle and Fire by a triangle. The cards are also color coded according to each element.

The book is kind of confusing as a basic introduction to astrology, especially the spreads. They’re based on houses, and months, and ??? I think I’ll pass on them but try some of my own houses spread ideas. And I may pull into service my handy Keywords for Astrology book if I need more info than the card keywords. Susan trained in Soul Level Astrology with master astrologer Mark Borax. She delights in exploring with individuals the planetary pattern under which their soul choose to incarnate.

Please be respectful of the space and the people here. Spam and other bad behaviours won't be tolerated. More Saturn! I really did shuffle, I swear! Its strength is that it uses the traditional art, the firm foundation if you will, of astrology in a new way. On the other hand, it might be too traditional and faithful for the meaning to be really clear?

I’m also feeling enthusiastic about sharing some info here on the forum, but maybe that’s just a bid to look good! The Health card rules health and also work as stated above. If you selected the HOUSE card it could indicate that a family member is involved. If the card was the FOX this can suggest something is wrong in the areas depicted by 6th House. FOX is also about strategy so a restructuring could be going on …and so on. The theme of the reading would revolve around this although not every house card will tie in perfectly. The theme is a major highlight. Any of the months could expand on it.What could possibly be the reason for the Excitement card? It looks like the month of July will be very busy. Mercury rules communication. This is a very social card promising a busy social calendar. The downsize of the Mercury in Gemini is female L may change her mind at the snap of a finger. Saturn in Aries: Risk. A boy, worldly possessions over his shoulder, bravely passes a menacing bear. The North American Indian fetish is a protection against danger. A key symbolizes Aries' boldness in opening doors, and a starred tree the fruits of Martian courage."

Here’s Leo again. This time we’re showing off our attractiveness and relationship. I can learn to be a bit flamboyant in my interpretations. I need to make sure I know the difference between what’s good and bad for me, as in the Exaltation card.

Week 2: *Extremism* Mercury in Scorpio. The energy of this card is very powerful. Often this card suggests news of a death. There will be some drastic unfoldment which will affect female L very deeply. Sometimes my feelings overcome my common sense. As we learned in Mary Greer’s intuition class, you have to trust your intuition, BUT not everything that pops into your head is trustworthy. Whatever I do will be based more in how it looks than how it will actually help my health. For example, I’ll resolve to lose the weight because I’ll look better, not because it’s healthier. Week 1: Inspiration. Mercury in Pisces. This card reveals female L already knows many of the answers which appear this month. She may be refusing to face up to it. This is a card of excuses. Interesting that two of my gifts are my birth planets. It seems to be saying that their positions are my natural gifts. I just need to recognize them and use them. What would be healing for me is to allow myself enjoyment and a little showing off.
