ZHIYUN Smooth Q4: This is a great gimbal for mobile videographers. It’s foldable, robust, and the removable LED light will keep clips well-lit at night. FPV: In FPV mode, all three axes of the gimbal follow the movement of the handle. This is wonderful for dynamic filming of still subjects such as landmarks, buildings, or statues.

Yes. Glamour Effects are supported for taking photos (single and timed) and videos of common specifications. Some smartphones support shooting 1080p or 720p videos with Glamour Effects enabled. The gimbal can be left to turn slowly for creative timelapses. (Image credit: Adam Juniper / Digital Camera World) There’s a new Slide Wheel, which DJI says allows you to adjust the focal length for flexible composition and zoom in and out. You can also create a “cinematic look with a press of the slideside wheel to switch to manual focus control.”Panorama: Record more of your surroundings with panorama mode. CloneMe Pano: Ever want to be in multiple places at the same time? Here’s your chance.

Panorama: The camera takes photos while it moves from one point to another automatically and then pieces the photos together to make one extra-wide photo. A “Clone Me” option within this feature also allows you to digitally add yourself to various spots within the final photo. DJI’s Osmo Mobile 6 gives users the ability to film with flawless stabilisation, resulting in smooth footage that wows. The key to Osmo Mobile 6’s stabilisation is three powerful motors that make sure your phone stays where it needs to be, even during dynamic movements and when using larger smartphones. Loaded with some of the smartest algorithms we’ve ever made, it adapts to your movements while filming, whether you’re riding a bike or using gesture control. That means ultra-smooth results. Anytime. Anywhere. The shooting capabilities of the Osmo Mobile depend on what type of mobile phone system you use. Consequently, Android users may not be able to use the fully optimized functions of the Osmo Mobile. DJI is working with Android phone manufacturers to provide a better user experience to all Android users. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Launch the LightCut app, enter the One-Tap Edit function and select the original clips you have taken. One-Tap Edit automatically recommends templates according to your clips, from nature to shopping, at home or dining out, playing with pets, going to festivals, and more. And then intelligently selects great clips to generate video without your manual edit. Android: You can adjust white balance (AWB) in the setting “…” but cannot manually adjust ISO and shutter speed (S).

Based on previous generations of the Osmo Mobile gimble, it’ll likely provide better stabilization than Action Mode. One thing I’m keen to see, however, is how Action Mode and the Osmo Mobile 6 could work together. Clear the previous connection in the Bluetooth settings of your smartphone. Disable and then enable the Bluetooth of the smartphone. Follow: In Follow mode, the camera view follows the gimbal’s pan and tilt movements and stays level during rolls. This mode is suitable for shooting up, down, and diagonally. DJI has also made their LightCut app available for more customizable video editing. LightCut is pared-down and easy to use. It offers simple, straightforward tools for sequencing and editing a series of clips along with titles and music. It has numerous templates that can be used if you so desire. You can't do anything too sophisticated with it, but for the casual vlogger or content creator it's a useful (and free) tool.Story Mode: Choose your template and follow the prompts to create an awesome short video, even if you have no experience shooting or editing. Without installing DJI Mimo you can use the gimbal in its standard modes and your camera app, but this misses out on a lot of the features (not to mention firmware updates). Story Mode: The software instructs you on how to record three or four different shots. You shoot those shots, and then the app edits them all together into a professional-looking video complete with music and even title cards. This is an easy way for anyone to create stunning social media videos without any video editing expertise. Effortlessly and fluidly control zoom and focus with Osmo Mobile 6’s new side wheel. Roll the wheel to adjust the focal length for flexible composition and zoom in and out with buttery smoothness. And for even more cinematic control, press the side wheel once to switch to manual focus.

However, I found ShotGuides to be a bit overwhelming. There a ton of categories, each of which contains a lot of angles with video examples. Sometimes I wasn't sure if I was shooting a take or watching the tutorial. Also, City Themes can send you on scavenger hunts, for example to find a traffic light. While DJI lists the number of times each theme has been used in-app, I don't see this type of content on the social feeds I follow. iPhone: For iPhones, tap the camera icon to adjust ISO, shutter speed (S), and exposure compensation (EV), and change the white balance in settings after disabling the Auto mode. The ‘M’ button that turns the device on and off and can also be pressed to automatically switch between gimbal modes, or three times to enter standby mode. Underneath is a red ‘Record’ button that you press to start recording video, or take pictures if the device is in photo mode. The overall stabilization performance of the gimbal is impressive. Despite the weight of modern phones, the motors were able to keep up with some aggressive movement on our part and hold the camera stable. You can comfortably get the gimbal to nearly 180˚ without the default mode losing the horizon.
