Like you mention, there are other mentions of urethane issues online, and while I don’t know the specific circumstances of those cases, the ones I’ve seen are from the discontinued Urethane Series — which have since been replaced by the Pro Series.

This 5 year home-use warranty covers manufacturer defects as well as damage from normal use, which includes drops from as high as 12 inches above the floor. It does NOT cover abuse, which includes but is not limited to drops higher than 12 inches. Price There are 3 models within the Pro Series. This includes an expandable model and two non-expandable models: Most people don't need a kitted-out power strip with surge protection, and if you're one of them, you're better off choosing something that's affordable like this one from Anker that offers 2,100 joules of protection. That's more than enough for your basic devices like smartphones, laptops, and printers, which is what most people have in their offices. Expandable models are those which have a base set (i.e. Stage 1 set) that can be upgraded to a heavier set with expansion kits. Unfortunately, no. They don’t have any plans to release any expansion kits to go beyond 90 lbs for any of the HOME USE models.

This photo shows just the Pro EXP Stage 1 base set. If you buy this one, you can (and should!) buy the Stage 2 expansion kit& Stage 3 expansion kit later, to get the full 90 lbs max weight. The second reason is to prevent the weights from clanging around inside the handle during exercise. UPDATE: Readers have since confirmed that they Pro expansion kits DO indeed work on the now-discontinued U90 dumbbell sets. Reply Unfortunately, the Pro expansion kits do not work with the U90 dumbbells. You’ll have to find them second hand or from a 3rd party retailer that may still happen to carry the U90 kits.

If you want to maximize the range of motion for your hand/wrist/forearm inside the dumbbell handle. The open handle design and wedge handle shape give the Pro EXP more usable space inside the handle than on any other home-use model. The Pro 50 is non-expandable, meaning there are no expansion kits to upgrade it beyond its maximum weight of 50 lbs per dumbbell. If you want to go heavy but don't want to spend quite as much as you would on a Bowflex, consider the MuscleSquad 32.5kg Adjustable Dumbbell. MuscleSquad's monster dumbbell takes up surprisingly little space yet leaves a lot of room for progression and to ‘go heavy’.

if you're happy to spend more to go heavy, you might want to consider getting the Bowflex SelectTech 1090i Adjustable Dumbbell, sometimes also called the 'Rolls Royce of dumbbells'. These beefy 'bells from Bowflex offer a phenomenal spread of 4 kg to 41 kg in a product with a footprint a little bigger than a standard large dumbbell. The open draft of the interior surface maximizes the range of motion and increases ergonomics with the contoured rubber grip.

An electrical surge is a brief spike in voltage. They can be generated outside your premises or within it, depending on what equipment is malfunctioning (mainly electric motors, such as water pumps, building elevators, etc.). These surges can cause damage to electronic equipment within your home or office. However, if you’re still having trouble deciding, I’ll lay out when I think it makes sense to buy each model. Do you know of any significant improvement differences between the Pro EXPs and the previous U series? (Aside from the color bar scheme).Manufacturers of surge protectors certify their devices and measure their effectiveness, giving them a rating in Joules which is the amount of energy they can filter, and also its clamp voltage, which is the threshold. Put simply, the more joules, the better protection and the longer your surge protector will do its job.

Excellent writeup! Just started looking for adjustable dumbells and leaning towards a PB, only to find out there are so many models it’s daunting. I think you’ve helped narrow it down to the Elite 90….I think. Wait, must reread article! ReplyContoured upholstered pads with high-density foam resist wear and tear while maintaining comfort in all 5 positions. Specifications It’s overall more durable so it can handle rougher commercial gym use conditions. However, because these are likely to be used in tougher settings, they have a shorter 1-year commercial warranty, as opposed to the 5-year limited home use warranty that the Pro EXP has. Pro 125 Commercial Set or Pro 175 Commercial Set: The Pro 125 set is expandable to 175 lbs. with the 125-175 lb expansion kit. The Pro 175 set is 175 lbs when you get it. The Elite Series consists of just one expandable model: The Elite USA, which is sometimes called the USA Elite or the Elite 50/70/90. Technically, you could say the Elite USA includes 3 separate sets — the Elite 50, Elite 70 and Elite 90 — but these are just 3 different stages of the same model. Use Elite USA dumbbells to make home fitness gains with an ultra-compact design. These U.S.-made portable dumbbells are expandable up to 90 pounds each to grow as your strength does.
