One of the potential downsides to the new 4K UHD presentations of the first two Predator films is Fox's decision not to grant them new,grading changes here are quite winning as well. The opening jungle melee has a kind of orange tint now due to some of the flares and other lighting Predator was shot and finished photochemically, so, natively speaking, it's a rich source for a 4K home video presentation. For this 2160p / H.265 / HDR10 master, I have no knowledge whether it is a new recent scan, the restored scan Studio Canal did a few years ago, or if it's the same scan used for the Ultimate Hunter release before it was butchered with excessive DNR. As the three discs included in this set are exactly the same as their previous Blu-ray releases, I encourage you to take a look at our coverage for those releases: Survivor, but which has thankfully (in my considered opinion) been dropped, where the last few survivors walk through a field littered with Let me say that again; this image has had no digital tampering; it is grainy and dirty, but retains all the finite detail that was scrubbed from the last Blu-ray release and whose image was subsequently used for all releases since (including the 3D).
