I will be reading more from Jess Ryder, and I hope other readers find her book as captivating as I did! Newly married Natasha has the perfect house, a loving husband and a beautiful little girl called Emily. She’d have it all if it wasn’t for Jen, her husband’s ex-wife who just won’t leave them alone … I was also educated as I hadn't seen the Harold Wilson statue mentioned in the story nor the Antony Gormley sea statues so I googled both after I just finished. The sea figures are especially fascinating. There were a couple of real laugh-out-loud moments in it, despite the seriousness of the tale itself. Now't wrong with a little bit of light relief and it doesn't go overboard in the least on the comedic front, trust me....I like my murderation taken seriously. WHAT did I just read!!!! WOW!!! I mean seriously Wow!! I was NOT expecting that lot fair play!!! This has GOT to start with a MASSIVE WELL DONE SALLY AND AMANDA!!!! Ooopps sorry, yes, needed a minute to get over that but I've just left you hanging there... Sorry.... Let me tell you more... In a genre often saturated with similar themes, "The Ex-Wife" manages to stand out, delivering a dark and captivating narrative that will keep readers guessing. This book is a must-read if you’re a fan of psychological thrillers filled with suspense and surprises. Sally Rigby and Amanda Ashby have crafted a compelling tale that will leave you eagerly anticipating their next collaboration.

The book opens with Alice on trial for the murder of her ex-husband’s fiancée & her daughter’s boyfriend. In court, her air is one of acceptance & it appears that the only unknown is how long the prison sentence will be. We are then thrown to six months previously & shown the torturous route to present day. This Book grips you from the first paragraph. I was unable to put it down! A definite "Who done it?" Full of twists and turns and I have not read a book that kept me intrigued like this one did in a very long time. Sally Rigby has fully developed characters that are believable. With all the faults and life experiences that make us all so different. I am insanely in love with George Cross, a perfect detective for our time and for all time' Stephen Fry For me it's not easy to put the plot into words as it's one you really need to experience yourself.Norah’s brother Felix employs Cassie ( Mark & alice’s daughter) and slowly learns about her boyfriend Scott. The story soon reaches the point where the reader is put in the position where we're hesitant to trust anyone, with each chapter unravelling another secret and another lie that had me questioning my previous assumptions. Very cleverly plotted, I just had to discover where exactly the story was headed, bingeing on all the juicy and mind blowing plot twists the author masterfully prepared, finishing off with a wow ending that had my ravenous appetite for domestic psychological dramas thoroughly and absolutely satiated!
