I also really struggled to see Tyson as a person for a while, and this book eventually changed that for me. Now I will say that in the beginning, I had a bit of a though about how Tyson was, and this ruined my initial thoughts of him (he appears briefing int he first two books) It wasn't until a few days later that I realised I couldn't stop thinking about this book! The spice is incredible as always with Shantel and I would recommend this series to anyone who is eager to indulge in the Dark Romance genre.

In typical Shantel style, this man LOVES, and secretly loves hard. He's a closed book for most, but not for Laikyn (well eventually). I had high hopes for Lake, I thought she was a strong character in the beginning, and there were times that she showed or thought of it and cheered her on. I really supported her. She really had gone through a lot, and it’s pretty understandable since she’s traumatized. In the end, I feel sorry for her. I do read about dubcon and… I love degradation, but as a cliche for me to say this, I guess for me I didn’t feel an authentic connection between both characters. (Maybe that’s just me). The way their relationship began was questionable, and I didn’t support it. In my head, I guess I kept second-guessing their relationship, but then again, it may be just me. However, they kind of both worked it out in the end. You do NOT have to read The Ritual or The Sinner first but some characters from both do make appearances in The Sacrifice. the thing that really got me with tysons story is the fact we've heard for 2 books now that he lost everything... and you don't really get to see or feel the magnitude of just what he lost and had to sit around and wait for and what that meant for his life and future. The Sacrifice is a Dark Romance, Suspense, Secret Society, Arranged Marriage & Revenge themed book centring around Tyson Crawford. He is a character we are 1st introduced to in The Ritual, another book based in the LORDS world. This book is a standalone, the previous LORD books do not have to be read to follow this story.

The sex is explicit, there are some things with wax-play, but it was also boring because the H+h fell into insta-lust without any relationship-building.
