On the palate it’s quite sharp, with more citrus, plenty of spiciness, and with a vanilla creaminess and still a flavour of that malt. Even though it’s only slightly stronger than average at 43.3%, the alcohol definitely comes across, and all in all it’s a delightfully complex and pleasant taste. Named after the capital of Mull, Tobermory Gin has been distilled using inspiration from the island, the second largest of the Inner Hebrides. Fresh juniper balanced with sweet orange and lemon, hints of coriander, gentle herbs and spices, with a luxurious, creamy mouth-feel and a subtle hint of sweet malt. Situated on the Hebridean island of Mull in the coastal fishing town of Tobermory, the Tobermory Distillery, originally called the Ledaig Distillery, was established in 1798. The seafront and harbour is famous for its rainbow coloured row of houses and shops that overlook the Sound of Mull, the expanse of water between the east side of the island and mainland Scotland.
