Barebells are a fairly new protein bar to the game, having been founded in 2016. However, that was in Sweden, and they didn’t make their way to the US for several years after that.

White chocolate flavors have their fanbase. Indeed, a lot of people don’t like regular chocolate flavor. The white chocolate barrels protein bar is a fantastic option for those people. However, you should know that plant-based protein bars are not as high as regular ones. Vegan protein bars have more calories, carbs, fat, and low protein than standard protein bars. Barebells delivers with the macros on all their bars, and the texture is good. Flavour-wise it’s also pleasant, but there’s nothing overall amazing about this bar, not a lot to rant about. Certainly not disappointing, but certainly not astounding either. Coconut-Choco (4/10) There are hundreds of protein bar brands available in the market, and every year or two, more and more businesses are hopping into the company with their products. Barebells is one such product that has been making a lot of buzz since the last year.I won’t lie, this bar disappointed me. Although not a fan of coconut, I’ll make an exception when it’s mixed with chocolate – just not for this bar. Protein bars like Barebells have come up a long way. Earlier companies used to sell high-calorie, high-sugar, and low protein with low nutritious value. Milk protein, collagen peptides, humectant (glycerol), sweetener (sucralose, maltitol), polydextrose, cocoa, water, milk powder, sunflower oil, almonds, salt, soy lecithin. So all in all Barebells have delivered on the mint and the sprinkles, but to call this mint dark chocolate is a bare-faced lie and I just won’t condone it. Sweetness– Not too sweet, but sweetened with sugar alcohols to the perfect level. A few of them have a good balance of salty & sweet. Barebells has somehow figured out how to capture the texture you want in a candy bar, while still providing delicious flavor AND very favorable nutrition facts.The flavour here is really nice. It’s definitely lemony, but not so zingy as to make you wince. The curd layer is a great addition, and any bitterness is beautifully balanced by the sweetness from the white chocolate. The center is softy, and you don’t have to put a lot of effort to chew. The sweet and creamy chocolate coating and the crispies on the top felt good. The overall texture is spot on. Nutritionally, Barebells are on par with most protein bars you’ll find. Each bar contains around 200 calories and 20 grams of protein, which has become the industry standard. It’s attractive, I’ll give it that. Call me easy, but the coconut sprinkles add an element of luxe which I quite like. There’s also a pleasant coconut scent which is extra inviting. Soy protein, pea protein, rice protein, vegetable glycerol, polydextrose, maltitol, cocoa butter, oligofructose, unsweetened chocolate, hazelnuts, cocoa, tapioca starch, sunflower oil, natural and artificial flavors, soy lecithin, sucralose.

The centre is very soft, almost fudge-y and with barely any chew. The chocolate coating is sweet and creamy, albeit a little thin. The crispies on the top and throughout the centre are plentiful and add a wonderful crunch. Texture-wise it’s pretty spot on. Protein bars are one handy, easy-to-carry, and highly nutritious food. The reason is pretty simple. Protein bars are ready to eat, and they come up with several delicious flavors. You can exercise anywhere and use protein bars for post-workout recovery. I was really excited about this bar because I absolutely love white chocolate, but this bar wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. The white chocolate coating is lovely, but it’s still so thin that the almond pieces are still essentially naked, but the almond pieces themselves are a better choice than the go-to crispies of other brands. The core is soft with a slight chew and, although I’ve literally just shaded them, I do like the crispies in there for the subtle crunch. Creamy and soft (like all the Barebells bars), complete with gooey caramel and real cashew chunks...all enrobed in sweet milk chocolate...and all for just 204 calories, a whole 20g of protein and just 1.5g of sugar! This protein bar has a very rich chocolate taste, and a hint of salt comes through as well. The crunchy pieces on the outside contrast the chewy bar really well, too. It’s quite simple in its execution, but this bar nevertheless has an essence of luxe. Definitely not as good as the Salty Peanut, but it’s up there with Barebells’ bests. Mint Dark Chocolate (6/10)
