About this deal

As we said in our review of the Earfun Air, it’s rare that we award five stars to a pair of true wireless headphones at this ultra-low price point, since cheap rarely means good value. Simply put, it does here. We also think they look great too, writing this about their compact design in our review: "These earbuds are very sleek indeed, and their small frame and lightweight build sets them apart from models such as the Apple AirPods." These budget buds are great value, bringing you a solid build quality and top-notch audio performance with a killer battery life. These are all features you'd expect from a product that normally costs double the amount. The top of the EarFun Air’s Charging Case has a subdued “earfun” logo, and the Charging Case’s bottom has a USB-C port that can be used to charge the Charging Case. This is one of the first products of this type that I have reviewed that has not had a standard micro USB port for charging, but instead the increasingly-utilized USB-C. Additionally, the Charging Case can also be charged wirelessly. More on this below.

During our testing, we really found that these earbuds belie their lowly price-point, and sound far better than we'd have ever expected. We said in our review they provide a "pleasant listen". Sure, sonically they can certainly be beaten but you'll have to pay a lot more. Switch to Words Of A Fool by Barry Gibb and Jason Isbell on Tidal Masters and there’s a pleasing level of separation and clarity between the wurlitzer, piano, textured guitars and Gibb’s soulful vocal. Taylor Swift’s Willow is similarly expansive through the three-dimensional string section and, although there’s that marginal touch of harshness through the midrange, Swift’s central, often ethereal vocal stylings are well-handled. While similar budget-friendly headphones can come off somewhat congested, here the design of the driver and earpiece (which doesn’t sit too far into the ear canal) allows for a pleasant and spacious presentation. The EarFun Free 2 offers a good array of features that open them up for use for various purposes. Are you a keen gym and fitness fanatic? Along with their solid fit, the Free 2 offer IPX7 resistance, which means they’re fully waterproof and should happily survive any encounters with rain and sweat. The EarFun Air's 6mm drivers do a good job with bass and overall clarity. (Image credit: TechRadar) EarFun Air review: audio performanceI tend to forever need bigger ear tips and the similar applies here, with the bigger ear tips that are included the fit is just great. I can move around without too much risk of them falling out, but I would not want to go to a run with these earbuds. Earfun Air Pro review Earfun adds noise-cancelling to its successful budget true wireless earbuds recipe In addition to this, both mid-bass and sub-bass offered by this TWS were strong and impacting but did not become overly boosted as to be classified as a “bass-only” headphone.

Do you intend to workout with your earbuds? If so, you'll need buds that will stay put, so look out for interchangeable eartips and fins to hold them in place. Once the Charging Case’s internal battery has been fully charged, the tiny LED changes from red to green as shown above. The charging case on the other hand will give you an extra 28 hours of battery life between each charge allowing you to get around 35 hours total with the earbuds and the case. It didn’t take long to get to that 35 hours during the week since I listen to music while I work. Either way, 35 hours is plenty of time for people to listen to music or watch their favorite shows. The EarFun Air has a meaty and very punchy bass, right out of the box – users will not need any EQ to feed up their bass. This feature allows you to still hear the sound from outside while listening to music. The transparent mode have useful for being aware of the dangers that will arise while listening to music, for example, as you walk on the sidewalk or across the street, you will hear the horn of cars. Or, you can hear the operator while you are wearing earbuds. Battery LifeIf you're all about the sound quality, look for earbuds that support hi-res audio files and low latency codecs like aptX Adaptive.Or, if you want cheap earbuds that will get your through a week's worth of commuting, you'll want to look out for long battery lives - think 25 hours and above. You value audio quality: These buds sound superb out of the box, especially at this price point. The new LDX Audio mode gives them an optionally-beefier sound too. As far as function goes, this is also pretty standard for some wireless earbuds with touch controls. The touch controls include: The EarFun are able to resolve a fair amount of detail while offering a nicely balanced ratio between brightness and non-fatiguing sound.

Specs: in-ear (with stem), dimension: 2″ x 1.2: x 2.2″, weight: 8.4 ounces, Bluetooth 5.0, full-charge (case): 1.5 hours, charging type: USB type C, playtime: 35 hours with charging case As if that wasn't enough, these are some of the most secure and comfortable buds we've tested (especially for smaller ears) with a solid build quality – they're 37% lighter and 38% smaller than the top-tier WF-1000XM4 buds from Sony, too.The JLab Go Air Pop are an incredibly accomplished pair of buds considering how cheap they are. Connectivity was instant and reliable throughout our testing, we also liked the simple on-ear volume controls. There's a mic in each earbud for call-handling, and you'll get basic EQ profiles too – triple tap either earpiece and you’ll hear the soothing voice say “balanced’, “bass boost” or “JLab signature”. Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 G95NC review: The world’s first dual UHD monitor delivers in spades October 2, 2023 Similarly, Hootie and the Blowfish’s Only Wanna Be With You is handled with admirable timing, but the strummed banjo rhythm through the intro isn’t quite as three-dimensional as we might hope, and there’s a small loss of insight at higher frequencies. It’s not a massive sonic issue for a product at this price, but worth noting nonetheless. Until now, we've never awarded five stars to a set of true wireless headphones at this budget level - despite testing models from well-known and highly respected audio brands." The lid is used magnetic simply to open and close tightly. You can open the lid with only one hand. The case will automatically pair to the lasted devices when opening the lid.
