About this deal

Production wise, it is most likely that the first 12 episodes were originally made for this seasons' production between late 1986-1987, with the last 4 episodes being made much later on sometime in 1988, due to the fact that character models where given a slight update towards them (such as them being given new faces). The New Adventures of Fireman Sam: Disaster For Dinner and a 'William's Wish Wellingtons' video are advertised at the beginning of the tape. Before the rope bridge rescue, when Don Sledgehammer is telling Sam what to do, there are no vehicles behind them, but a few seconds later, Flex's trailer and some other vehicles are behind them. This special was released on the Roku channel in the US with the US dub and this is also the latest special to be dubbed in the US. The Roku Channel in the US then changed the special's dub with the UK dub, but the US dub can still be found somewhere.

During the rope bridge rescue, Sam accidently breaks one of the planks and grabs a rope that was previously meant to be fire to keep balance. The re-release has a 5 second slide advertising videos 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 plus The Very Best of Fireman Sam. NOTE: This is the only Fireman Sam DVD to feature all three versions of the show. (The Original, Series 5 and CGI.)

At the start of the tape, there is a promo advertising The Hero Next Door, Lost Cat, Sam's Day Off, Snow Business, Norman's Pitfall and All in a Good Cause. A recording of the live action Fireman Sam stage play, which ran in certain theatres throughout the 1990s. The Original 1990 release has a slide advertising The Hero Next Door, Lost Cat, Sam's Day Off and Snow Business.

It is only going to be routine drill for Trevor Evans on his first day in the fire service until a message comes over the radio. This is the latest Fireman Sam special to have a US dub, as the US dub of the series has been possibly discontinued as of Series 12. Strangely, when James analyzes the films and shares his observations with Mandy and Sarah, the recordings are pixelated. At one point Sarah mistakenly refers to her Uncle Sam as "Fireman Sam", though she did correct herself later on. On the Cover sleeve, BBC Video forgot to include Lost Ring in the episode listings, however, images from that episode are seen on the cover art.
