Description

To simulate thermal demand we run the Cinebench R23 multi-thread benchmark and 3DMark Time Spy Extreme stress test simultaneously in a loop for 60 minutes to fully load the system. This gives the CPU and GPU enough time to reach constant steady-state temperature. With this data, we can compare how the system handles the thermal demand and measure peak noise levels. A look up enriches us with even more mesh. With this air permeability, Lian Li wants to treat your PC components to as much cool air as possible. At the bottom of the case we also have mesh, but there also with dust protection, so that nothing can get to your power supply or the associated chamber. This can also be removed easily. Ansicht Vorne By installing the external fan slightly wonky and with only one screw I was able to connect to one HDMI port on the graphics card and run the thermal tests. Hopefully, Lian Li can take a second look at the fan mount and modify it so that it can compatible with more system configurations as it is genuinely a good feature, especially when combined with the PSU shroud mounted fans.

Extensive cable management is provided by three large cable straps in the central channel, an additional cable management channel to the right of the motherboard tray includes three clips for CPU EPS power cable routing while multiple cable cutouts are placed in handy locations. I added 2 x 140mm fans in the slots below the GPU which is mounted traditionally, keep my 3090 well fed with fresh air.Other than this minor inconvenience, the Lian Li Lancool 216 is an excellent mid-range chassis. Installing a system inside the case is easy, the adjustable motherboard mounting position makes motherboard components at the top of the case accessible when in water cooling mode with a top-mounted radiator and for those who want to air cool the system the motherboard can be lifted to create more space for bigger bottom fans and large CPU air coolers while still being able to mount a big graphics card vertically. We see a lot of PC chassis here at KitGuru but we don’t often come across anything genuinely unique. Most of the time, new cases offer improved looks, but not necessarily any improvement on the usual features we have seen for decades which means that finding cases with useful new features is a rarity. The Lian Li Lancool 216 is the exception to that rule, but what has Lian Li got up its sleeve in this new mid-range chassis? Let’s find out.

Make sure that your motherboard BIOS is the latest version. If not, recommend to update to the latest version. A reversible front I/O allows users to re-position the front panel from the top of the case to the bottom left-hand side. This means that users with floor-mounted or desk-mounted cases can have easy access to the front I/O. It’s that time again, Lian Li releases a new „Airflow case“. The predecessor Lian Li Lancool 215 we had already tested at the beginning of last year, where it was happy about our „Silver Award“. The Lancool 216 case is quite similar in construction to its predecessor. The installed fans have become smaller, we have … (Weiterlesen...) If there is yet another month-long delay in March with no clarification from OCUK/Lian Li then I will consider opting for a less ideal case. Mid-tower chassis with two modes: Normal Mode/ Reverse Mode Feature multi-directional power button and movable IO module Front and side tempered glass panels for components and RGB display Supports up to 3x 360 radiators and a maximum of 10 fans Offers 9 storage drives mounting space Dual-chamber layout with hooks friendly cable management compartment Five optional accessories: Vertical GPU Kit…I've the 215 and have absolutely loved it. Easy access, great air flow for the price. I got mine for €65 euros. KitGuru says: The Lian Li Lancool 216 is an impressive chassis for its price point. There is some tough competition in that sector of the market but Lancool 216 is up there with the best of them, what do you guys think? Basically, we can already assume that this case, like most Lian Li cases, has a good airflow and already has nice RGB effects pre-installed. But is this also the case here? And what design options does the latest Lancool offer? Is there enough space for proper cable management? We will now take a look at this and much more together in this test. Technical data: Model

There are six storage bays; four of them supporting 3.5in drives, which is enough for many terabytes of data, not even counting M.2 ports. Furthermore, Lian Li has made it easier to cable manage your fans as well. There are the standard channels for the front fans, but there are also similar routing options at the top. These provide easy access to the rear chamber without having to enter the main chamber. Lian Li Lancool 216 mid-tower PC Case Specifications: Colour The rear fan in airflow mode will suit specific gpu coolers. The exhaust out the rear and front Msi 1080 Gaming X that GN used in their thermal test doesn't appear to be one of them.Lian Li’s 216 chassis is very versatile, supporting motherboards that are up to EATX in size and up to 280mm wide. The case also supports ATX power supplies that are up to 220mm in length, which means that this case can support large PSUs with insane maximum wattages. The Lian Li Lancool 216 has been specially designed for maximum airflow, alongside being optimised for air and AIO cooling. The front and top panel feature fine mesh that permits ample air to flow both into and out of the case. Furthermore, Lian Li has totally redesigned the front fans for the Lancool 216, utilising dual 160mm fans. They are able to produce an astounding 118.85CFM of airflow with a static pressure of 3.10mmH2O. In addition to this, these fans are incorporated into a specially designed shroud that channels air for minimal turbulence.

To ensure plenty of air is passed through, the LANCOOL 216 features a continuous front-to-top fine mesh panel and a PSU shroud side mesh panel. Paired with 2 x 160 mm and 1x 140 mm pre-installed PWM fans, the LANCOOL 216 ensures great out-of-box performance. For air cooling solutions, the LANCOOL 216's rear I/O can be flipped and the motherboard standoffs set higher in the main chamber to allow up to 2x 140 mm fans above the PSU shroud and at the top of the case. In water-cooling mode, with a motherboard in a lower position, the top of the case can be fitted with up to a 360 mm radiator for AIO or custom water-cooling loop design. All temperature measurements are presented as Deltas – meaning the ambient temperature has been deducted from the CPU temperature giving us a Delta. Data shown in the charts represent the average component temperature over the length of the test as measured by HWiNFO and then the last 15 minutes of the data are calculated to get the average. The ambient temperature during thermal tests is between 20-21⁰C. While the case is designed to support two 160mm fans at its front, the Lian Li 216 can also support wither three 120mm fans or two 140mm fans, allowing the case to support a front mounted 360mm radiator or a 280mm radiator if needed. The top of Lian Li’s 216 chassis can also support three 120mm fans or two 140mm fans. While the case’s specifications do not mention this, the LANCOOL 216 appears to have mounts for two 160mm fans. Unobstructed Airflow LANCOOL 215 features two pre-installed 200MM ARGB fans and a 120MM fan, combining with mesh panels, honeycomb vents enable efficient ventilation. Equiped with two 200mm ARGB fan and one 120 fan at the rear. The mesh panel in the front creates a great airflow without bring the dust in. Include top and bottom honeycomb filtered vents, wide fan/radiator…I am co-founder of this blog and am very interested in everything that has to do with technology, but I also like to play games. I was born in Hamburg, but now I live in Bad Segeberg. The RGB lighting of the pre-installed fans was again convincing. Many effects and variation options give the whole a lot of freedom for individual design. The outer and inner areas can be controlled separately via the panel. FRONT I/O CAN BE RELOCATED Including a power button, reset button, audio port, 2x USB3.0 ports, and a USB Type C port, the front I/O module can be relocated to the lower left side of the front panel.
