About this deal

Valores como la igualdad y la defensa de la diversidad están muy presentes en este álbum que, por cierto, tiene unas ilustraciones preciosas. Si tenéis oportunidad, echadle un vistazo porque de verdad que vale la pena. Like many of my fellow Cannonballers, books are a vital thing in my life. I am not exaggerating when I say I would not be alive without them, and so I don't tend to underestimate how important they can be, ever, but I often see them undervalued in the greater world, which is unfortunate. Unfortunate because books can be one of an adults most essential tools for teaching - well, for teaching anything, but if we're talking about how we go about teaching our kids how to become good people? Then books can be 90% of your toolbox, and the other 10% is just living what you're preaching. Love Makes a Family: Gay Parents in the 90's by Daniel Veltri, Remco Kobus & Marla Leech (1991) at Fanlight Productions Diversity 7: I can describe some ways that I am similar to and different from people who share my identities and those who have other identities. What We Love: This touching board book helps teach children care-taking and empathy (and is part of a series focused on feelings). Through the minimalist illustrations, the little girl examines how she can help her father feel better — from reading him a story to drawing him a picture.

What We Love: In Littles and How They Grow , sweet rhymes list the copious ways we give love to our children. We appreciate the many different family configurations represented in the book and the racial diversity in the beautifully drawn characters.Every strong family legacy starts with one crucial element; love. Without love, there is no support for one another, and a family that does not fully support each other will never rise to be a great family. Kindness Makes Us Strong, the follow-up to Love Makes a Family, was published by the glorious Little Hare/Hardie Grant Egmont in May 2019!

What is a family? A family is made up of individuals who love. I liked how this book shows a variety of families from one parent to two-parents. The book expands to include two females, two males, older parents or grandparents, and an interracial couple. These parents along with their children are showing love as they celebrate a birthday, splash in rain puddles, have a tea party in tree house, and read books in a homemade tent on the floor (some examples). They are spending times together and enjoying each other's company. Love from family members is very different from what you will experience anywhere else, for a family’s love is unconditional and genuine. They will never expect anything in return from you.

A family is like the many small branches on a tree – you may all grow in different lengths and directions, but these branches are all interconnected with each other. We saw that society expected us to be independent, but that, as we got older, intradependence is what saved us, so we started teaching empathy and community and communication, even though we had to learn it from scratch then too. We saw that "hey you can't depend on your job for everything - maybe you can't depend on it for anything" and we started to tell kids to focus on things that made them feel whole, and happy, and to not neglect those things just because of their jobs/school/whatever society said was more important. We continue to get slapped in the face with the ways in which inequality is a planned feature of our society, and so we taught our kids to recognize it from the beginning, to name it when they see it, to actively work against it. Work is important, but family is even more so. After all, when you start a family, they are the ones that you swore to protect. Put time aside for your family. Assessment Text: “Sitti's Secrets” by Naomi Shihab Nye and illustrated by Nancy Carpenter (Aladdin)

Everyone has a house, but it will not be a home without your family’s love and care. Home is where love is, now and always. Love Makes A Family. Book format is also like a large board book, so this is really a good "all ages" kind of book. pix) Love Makes a Family, Inc. was founded in 1992 by Bonnie Tinker as an outgrowth of the making of a video of the same name on lesbian and gay Quaker families, [1] and incorporated in 1993 in connection with opposition to Ballot Measure 9 on the part of "a racially diverse group of sexual minorities in Oregon and Southwest Washington." [2] It is headquartered in Portland, Oregon. Its activities began in support of families, with support groups for parents and children and then a talk show with Tinker on a Christian right-wing radio station, KKEY, a newsletter, a schools committee to speak with students and teachers, and increasing political activity. [3] Based on Tinker's view that "meaningful social change doesn’t take place with 50 percent plus one, but rather when communities are transformed," the group also has booths at the Oregon State Fair for marriage equality and for non-violence, and continues Tinker's "Open Hearts and Minds" workshop since her death in an accident in July 2009. [4] Connecticut [ edit ] When you have love and support in your family, you won’t need to worry about any obstacles that come your way. Every issue can be easily resolved because a strong family will go through a problem together. Family life can contribute to each family member’s happiness greatly. Without a happy home, a happy career, happy environment or happy anything would not be possible.

Familial love is much more important than anything else to me. Their love for me gives me the strength to go through the day, and the motivation to be better at everything I do. Love and family are interconnected. You will find love in your family, and you will find your family in love. Your family can be bonded by blood or not at all, but you’ll know that there’s love in it either way. My family helped me to grow. I learned new skills, gained new knowledge and worked new jobs just so that I can return home and see the beautiful smiles on their faces. They mean the world to me. Diversity 10: I find it interesting that groups of people believe different things and live their daily lives in different ways. Writing a simple but compelling board book for toddlers isn’t easy. Ms. Beer did an excellent job of plainly stating what she thought the smallest members of society should know about the beautiful diversity of family life while also including deeper meanings for the adults or older kids who will be reading this out loud to the little ones in their lives.
