Description

Receivers such as DAB/DAB+ digital radios or digital radio alarms decode the signals and convert them into audio signals that can be played via loudspeakers. Compared to FM, DAB+ offers better sound quality, more programme diversity, less disturbances, and at the same time more options for interaction, as they can receive text, images or even videos in addition to sound. Internet radio - the future of sound r u sure your not experiencing sound drop outs? I did for the first week or two have this problem. switch the osd to show the power level received. The Evoke Home is the most expensive model in the range. (Image credit: TechRadar) Pure Evoke Home: design My only real concern is the F.M. performance, it is far below average, and sounds hissy on most stations!. I don't know if this is normal for this radio, or if mine has not been tuned properly in the factory.

PURE SUPPORT PURE SUPPORT

If you have one of the following models or if your radio is showing 'For upgrades, visit pure.com', you may need to upgrade your radio for DAB+ support. DAB/DAB+ radios are the perfect solution for radio reception of the highest quality. “Digital Audio Broadcasting”, DAB/DAB+ in short, is usually referred to as digital radio. The main benefits are obvious: A stable reception and less potential for bad signals than with FM (Frequency Modulation) radios, resulting in better sound quality. Overall I have to say that I am very happy with my Pure Evoke 2. I had considered buying an Evoke 1 but the thing that put me off was they are only mains powered and I wanted a portable radio that was truly portable so I decided to wait for the Evoke 2. The most significant include the addition of high-quality tweeter units – taking the Evoke's speaker system two-way – plus Pure's digital end-to-end audio subsystem, Clearsound. I am very pleased with my Pure Evoke 2. I have owned it for between 1 and a half to 2 years. I couldn't decide for a while whether to get the Pure Evoke 1 or this one. I decided to get the Evoke 2 because of the fact it also had FM Reception on it so I could also listen to some good local stations that were not yet on DAB.You can control the speaker with the included remote control. (Image credit: TechRadar) Pure Evoke Home: audio performance Pure offers a wide range of DAB/DAB+ radios with Bluetooth and portable radios with integrated or external battery operation and colour display. Digital radios, also known as DAB+ (Digital Audio Broadcasting Plus), work by transmitting digital radio signals instead of analog signals, as is the case with traditional FM radios. In other words, radio stations transmit their programmes digitally.

Evoke 2S User Guide EN - Downloads / Digital Radio / Evoke

Pure’s DAB+ radio with CD player is a device that can receive the digital DAB+ format and is also able to play CDs. It looks like a normal CD player but has the added functionality of a DAB+ radio. Compared directly to the original Evoke 2, the new model is noticeably better in terms of clarity and coherence and especially speech intelligibility. Crucially, though, it remains unflappable even when pushed to maximum volume. Throw high-quality music files at it (from iPods etc) and the output remains composed right up to the output's limit, which we found impressive. The Pure Evoke Home comes with a flip-up screen. (Image credit: TechRadar) Pure Evoke Home: price and release date Pure Digital Evoke-2XT review Sonically, the Evoke-2XT is noticeably broader and more authoritative than its smaller Evoke-1 stablematesThe Evoke 2S's improved sound quality is down to more than just the new tweeters, however. Pure's Clearsound suffix describes its digital end-to-end audio subsystem, which uses high-quality class D amplifiers and digital audio shaping technology to provide clear dynamics with low power consumption to suit the times. This gadget allows you to listen to CDs and also receive DAB+ radio stations to give you a better choice of music and radio stations. The power cuts out when using mains or batteries - it switches on and off a couple of times and then will not work at all - completely dead.

Pure Evoke-2S review | What Hi-Fi?

I found it did this when it was stormy and very overcast, the level would drop below 50 even down to 20 odd on occassions. Since then its never happened, levels now always above 90% (they may have boostered it a bit) and we now have more channels. I live in the stix. Will alarms, presets or other saved settings be deleted if my radio is disconnected from the mains? Update announcement for models Evoke C-F6 and Evoke F3 with necessary action for continued internet radio serviceApplicable models: Chronos 2, Contour 100Di, Elan 2, Evoke 1S, Evoke 2S, Highway, One Classic, One Classic Series 2, One Elite, One Elite Series 2, One Mi, One Mi Series 2, Siesta, Siesta Mi, Siesta Mi Series 2 Although it does include a CD player, the Evoke Home is mostly about streaming. No surprises there, but the way it executes it all is sometimes underwhelming. Its pop-up screen hosts shortcuts to a bunch of apps; DAB Radio, FM Radio, Internet Radio, Spotify, Podcasts, Bluetooth, CD and AUX. Four of those require the Evoke Home to be attached to a Wi-Fi network. I like the fact that it has 6 presets for both DAB and FM so I can store my favourite stations on it. Another important benefit of DAB+ is the increasingly efficient use of available frequencies. Thanks to data compression technologies, different radio stations can be transmitted on a single frequency, thus reducing the number of necessary frequencies and optimising their use. Digital radio - how does it work?
