Essential for hobbyists As a "crafter" I was always limited to daylight hours once the darker evenings arrived. Very easy to set up and I love that the on/off switch is on the lamp rather than on the lead. It is very flexible and easy to manoeuvre to any angle and height. The magnification is fabulous for close up intricate work. While it’s a picturesque place to live in, we don’t get too much sunlight, especially during the cold season. I was looking for a white light magnifying lamp, steady and flexible enough to be able to move it around where I need to. I am usually very conscious about the environment in everything I do on a business and personal level, so energy efficiency was a big thing when choosing my lamp.Not only the stitching got easier and I could work on my projects at any time during the day, but the quality of my work hugely improved. The end embroidery pieces are much neater, without really improving my skills, it was all about the light and being able to see the fine stitches better! When my mum opened her present she was really impressed.The quality is very good, feels very sturdy. There are various grades of light to select and we were both surprised with how bright the light can go. The fact that this is mains powered is great, so many craft lights seem to be USB now (not good if you don't have a USB point to plug it in) Magnifying Lens] The head of the lamp has a 9cm magnifying lens incorporated in it.
