This is hands down the best smart plug on the market, especially as it comes in at the cheaper end of the price spectrum. While not compatible with Apple, it does everything you'd want from a smart plug and has a two year warranty to boot!

You can also give the impression you are at home by setting time schedules for your plugged-in lamps to switch on whilst you are away. It also has all the features we’ve come to expect in the best smart plugs. It’s Alexa and Google Assistant compatible, so you can use voice commands for basic controls. Still need help? As we said on the way in, smart plugs don't really need to do much: as long as you can turn it on and off with your phone, that's pretty much job done. The TCP Smart Wi-Fi Plug isn't the best-looking smart plug in the world, but it works as advertised, once you've figured out the app menus. No you don’t, if you lose your internet connection the system will still work, but you won’t be able to control if from your phone via the internet if you are away from the location the device is set up at.Great value, easy to use Great value & easy to use, I have 4 of these and use them on lamps across my house. They are perfect for making my home look occupied when I’m not there. I use them ad hoc but it’s great to be able to set them on a timer through the app if on holiday or somewhere without internet access. Or if you just don’t want the hassle of turning on lights each day as it starts to get dark. There’s even an ‘away mode’ which will turn a light on and off randomly, to make it look like you’re still at home. There’s also a button on the plug if you want to use it manually. The heater runs in this way instead of turning off to avoid any risk of the heater accidentally being left on in Auto mode when the leaving the home because it looked to be turned off. Like many plugs on the market, the Tapo P100 supports both Google Assistant and Alexa, so you can control it from a smart speaker if you have one. No additional hub is required.
