Overall, a really enjoyable read. Unique storyline, not your typical second-chance love story between a divorced couple, so I liked something different. Everybody says it's because my overprotective brothers scare all the guys away, but I can't help wondering if there's something wrong with me. And then of course after this lovely conversation, because again, it doesn’t matter how many times he humiliates & hurts her, she says: I'm very conflicted about how I feel about this series now. I liked Judy Corry's Ridgewater High series before, and I did enjoy some parts of this book. However, Corry went too far on the steam, in my opinion. This is supposed to be a clean romance. The level of steam is a bit much for the genre, I'd say. If you read this as a clean romance, then you may be disappointed. However, if you don't read it as a clean romance, it probably would be pretty good. I have truly found a kindred spirit in Elyse. She is a fellow dreamer, one who gets lost in her daydreams, which is something I’ve been guilty of my whole life. That, plus her love of drama and music, spoke to my performing arts past, though she went much further than I ever did. I continue to stay in my dreams, while she went after what she desired, which I immensely admired.

I don’t know how she does it, but somehow Judy’s books just keep getting better and better. (And they were amazing to start with!)Asher and Elyse were truly the perfect couple. To see where and how they started off from, to how far they had come from the evolving steps their relationship took to get to where they were by the end was no easy feat. Given the hurdles they encountered with the bumps that came along the way. Yet it never stopped them from pushing through, proving they were meant to be endgame. And so even though my family probably would have freaked out if they’d known I had a seventeen-year-old guy—one I’d had a major crush on at one point—sleeping just a few feet away from me at night, I was glad that he’d at least trusted me to help him when he wouldn’t tell my brothers.

Elyse is amazing and I loved seeing the different sides of her. I love that she’s a “good girl” with a different side that only Asher is able to bring out. So my dad had three kids all born within a year and a half of each other in addition to being the stepfather to my oldest brother, Ian, who came from my mom’s first marriage. Not that anything scandalous had happened those few nights he’d slept in my room. Sadly for me, the only times I’d ever been kissed had happened during a game of Spin the Bottle. Why would she say that? I had told Derek that I might show up with one of our teammates’ sister-in-law if his wife arranged it. Nash and Elyse were both big into the theater program at our school, and while the auditions for the winter musical weren’t for several weeks, Nash was basically a shoo-in for the male lead. He’d already played bigger roles in last year’s musicals—not the lead yet since the drama teacher Miss Crawley liked to fill those with seniors when possible. But only something crazy would keep Nash from winning the part of the Phantom. And I was pretty sure Elyse had a good shot at getting the part of Christine.

Sure, asking Ben out before I revealed my true identity probably wasn’t the greatest plan, but it was all about baby steps at this point. I mean, he would be graduating at the end of the year, and since we were already in the last week of October, there wasn’t a whole lot of time left for me to get up the nerve to make something happen. I LOVED THIS BOOK. Every part of it was beautiful. I want to be part of this world sooooo bad! The characters, the story, everything is just so perfectly written. The chemistry between Asher and Elyse was off the charts. I loved the feud between Nash and Asher and the way that Elyse’s emotions were written out. I had so much fun reading about certain parts, no spoilers, but if you’ve read the book then you’ll know what I mean by “cabin.” I’m really interested in what will happen with the Bailee plot of the book and can’t wait for whatever comes next. I love this author’s writing style and this is truly a book worth reading! I just got the last piece of it yesterday,” I said, unable to keep a smile from lifting my lips as I thought about the costume I’d been working on for weeks. Dressing up was one of my favorite things to do, so of course Halloween was one of my favorite holidays.
