The House Witch and The Enchanting of the Hearth

A book which brings together all the spiritual and happiness that home and hearth can represent. I highly recommend it for anyone on any spiritual path." House witch Finlay Ashowan is pulled out of the kitchen—and into the fire—as war, family, and love collide in the third book of this fantasy romance series. Kraken is the MVP for sure. I'll give it a 3.5, but rounding down to a 3⭐️ because I'm still a little salty. The characters in the movie were fairly average, albeit a bit on the generic side, in terms of how characters tend to be in movies such as these. Hardly memorable characters by any means, but the actors and actresses did good jobs with what they had to work with. Corwin was called upon to investigate the claims of diabolical activity when a surge of witchcraft accusations arose in Salem Village (now Danvers) and neighboring communities. He took the place of Judge Nathaniel Saltonstall, who resigned after the execution of Bridget Bishop. Corwin served on the Court of Oyer and Terminer, which ultimately sent 19 people to the gallows.

When Finlay Ashowan joins the kitchen of the King and Queen of Daxaria, he’s an enigma. Which suits Fin just fine. He’s satisfied simply serving as the royal cook, keeping nosy passersby out of his kitchen, and concocting some truly scrumptious meals. My favorite chapters were by far with ones leading up to Fin and Annika's wedding. The toasts his kitchen aides give and the celebration to follow was awesome and synonymous with how the coziness felt in the first book. A heartwarming and humorous blend of fantasy, romance, and mystery featuring a witch with domestic powers and the royal household he serves . . . dinner. In any event, the writing was wildly variable. Some quite good character dialogue and interaction was balanced by some toe-curlingly awful romantic scenes.

The House Witch | Book by Arin Murphy-Hiscock | Official

This has been a fun series. The writing might not be the most polished, but I was able to get past that and enjoy the story. Thankfully, there was less of Fin being referred to as "the red head" in book 3 - that got really annoying in the second book. Every inch of him itched to do so … Itched to hold her and allow everything to turn right in the world" (263). Low budget however does show, the film did need a grander and more elaborate setting while the photography can be too claustrophobic and the effects ropy at best. The dialogue has a lot of cheese and awkwardness and the secondary cast are wooden and some of the chemistry bland. Vertėja viską išvertė moteriška gimine. Na, taip, moterų raganų yra daugiau nei vyrų, bet vis tiek tai užkliuvo. Pats esu raganius ir pažįstų vyrų raganių, tad norėjosi kažkaip kitokio vertimo.this shot right up to one of my favourite books of the year! It's cozy, it's funny, its interesting, the characters are all great, and I can't wait to see where this goes. Can Fin successfully hide his secret and protect his heart? Or will the chaos of the castle and its good hearted people get the best of him?
