Lina did love Andrew, once upon a time but she certainly doesn't love him now. She wanted to marry him because she didn't love him. Love means breaking down your walls for the person who's willing to scale them. Andrew never tried. But I did. Because I am that person for her. The first 20% of the book was a mess. The whole wedding made me shake my head so much. I wasn't expecting to have that much drama at the start of the story, and something that's honestly absurd and unnecessary. The story slows down after that whole drama, and it kind of becomes boring when you compare it to the scenes that happened before. Just, you know, chemistry between two people interacting on a professional level and working toward a common goal. Brazilian culture introduction: As a “meat-woman” (Most of my vegan friends turned into my enemies and wanted to bury me alive) I only know their amazing kitchen but thankfully I learned more about their traditions, sports and other special kitchen suggestions instead of meat dishes with this book and I enjoyed every part of it. Hoover is one of the freshest voices in new-adult fiction, and her latest resonates with true emotion, unforgettable characters and just the right amount of sexual tension.

The book introduces readers to both Lina’s family and Max’s. Where Lina’s family is warm and involved in each other’s lives, Max’s family is more distant from each other. How did you go about crafting each family’s unique dynamic? Did you set out to have the families be foils or mirrors of each other in specific ways? THIS.IS.SOOOO.GOOD. I didn’t understand why some readers skipped this book or wrote some negative comments. I know exactly books arise some different feelings and bring out different opinions. But come on we have a sweetest, charming, so much likable, adorable book-boyfriend in da house.h rating: 3 stars. Frankie. I liked her but then I didn't. I didn't like the way she constantly pushed the H away. We have fake dating, and they’re sharing the same bed! Two tropes I love so much. Imagine the person who crashes your wedding turns out to be the love of your life? Pru and Chip, for one. I'm sure they're the equivalent of the Jane Bennet and Charles Bingley in this Pride and Prejudice-inspired (no, I will not call it a modern-day Pride and Prejudice) novel. But they're the least annoying couple, and the least troublesome? The heroine was my star in this book. Stubborn, unapologetic, sassy, smart, hilarious and, IMO, strong. I didn't support all her decisions and doings, but compared to this typical romantic heroine, who wets her pants and drools over the hero, this one was like a chocolate cake after a long diet.

Aiden and Frankie couldn't be more different. Aiden is a rich and successful businessman from Manhattan, and Frankie works full time, goes to grad school, and lives in Brooklyn. It's almost like two different worlds. The thing I loved best about Frankie is that she was always 100% herself. She was stubborn, had no filter, and told it like it was. Aiden is a strong hero also, just strong enough to handle her. I loved the two of them together. I laughed out loud several times. This was a swoony, sexy, and fun couple. I really loved THE WORST BEST MAN which I read last year. In THE WEDDING CRASHER, Solange is helping her wedding planner cousin when she overhears that the bride is secretly in love with someone else. She… you guessed it… announces this at the wedding and it is called off. Later she and the ex-groom, Dean, begin fake dating because both need fake partners for different events and there was a spark. A wedding planner left at the altar? Yeah, the irony isn't lost on Carolina Santos, either. But despite that embarrassing blip from her past, Lina's offered an opportunity that could change her life. There's just one hitch... she has to collaborate with the best (make that worst) man from her own failed nuptials.Over the last 12-18 months, I've read a lot of rom-c The couple. I didn't feel anything for them at all. Aiden, the Mr. Darcy of the story (but I refuse to see him as a man close enough to be even compared to Mr. Darcy), says Frankie looks like a stripper, is a bachelor by choice (he prefers no strings), and honestly, I'm starting to forget already. And Frankie isn't even better. She comes off as selfish and insensitive at times, not at all like Elizabeth Bennet, the strong heroine she was inspired by. There are probably a dozen reasons why we shouldn’t even try. And maybe you can’t see yourself being with me. But I want you to know that if there’s any chance for us, I’ll take it.” Thing I Loved #2: Lina's family and friends. I know I already kinda mentioned them, but they deserve their own entry because they were honestly hilarious. Then there was the chemistry between the characters. It was there. But also not really. They meet, fall in love, and go through all that rom-com drama in the course of 5 weeks. They technically knew each other prior to this, but they had never interacted before the day of the almost wedding, and it was only for a single disastrous conversation.

Mia Sosa is half Puerta Rican and half Brazilian. She was raised by her divorced mother and her mother's two sisters, whose marriages had also failed. [1] Sosa's first book was published in 2015. [2] I really loved Pru. What a great friend. She was getting married and Frankie was the one that was all over the place. They're best friends so I did love their loyalty to each other.Lina comes from a family of immigrants, and she struggles with feelings of letting her family down. Given all her mother sacrificed for her, she believes she should be “[w]orking harder. Achieving more.” What drew you to this theme?
