Throughout the day little owlsees seven different colours, some in the sky, some in the trees and flowers but also when it gets dark. A young owl stays awake all day so she can see all the colors of the day. So excited was she that she stayed awake all tonight too and discovered that nighttime is just as beautiful, if not more so, than the daylight. We are committed to making your visit to our theatres as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. All of our Front of House staff undergo disability awareness training and Dementia Friend Training and will be pleased to assist you should you require any information or help. WOW! Said the Owl is the bestselling board book about colours by Tim Hopgood, winner of the Best Emerging Illustrator, Booktrust Early Years Award.

One morning in a farmyard a spider begins to spin a web. All the animals try to persuade her to stop but she doesn't answer any of them; she is too busy spinning her web. From the warm, pink glow of dawn through to a day filled with the bright colours of green leaves, blue sky, white clouds and, finally, a stunning rainbow – ‘WOW!’ But despite the beauty of the daytime world, the little owl decides that the night-time stars are the most beautiful of all. I spy colours: Go outside to your garden or an outside space. Look around and play ‘I spy colours’, where one person says “I spy with my little eye, something blue.” Your child has to guess what it is. Try it with other colours. It tells the story of a curious little owl who explores the forest when the sun goes down, meeting all of the other nocturnal creatures who live there. Colour sorting: Collect different coloured items from around your house. This could include toys, craft materials, clothes and kitchen utensils. Ask your child to sort them into different colours and talk about what they have done. Everyone knows that owls are nocturnal but one curious little owl decides to take a long nap at night so she can stay awake during the day.

Simple text and an endearing character experiencing colour for the first time give an original slant to a first colours book. really enjoy reading this to my little girl, she giggles whenever i say "WOW said the owl" a lovely bedtime story Brilliant book! I had to work hard to encourage our baby to focus on books and this was THE book that got him hooked. He loved the repeated and enthusiastic use of the word 'wow' and of course the owl. Subsequently his first word was 'owl'. Find different pictures of objects / animals and sort them according to the colours that you can see.
