Description

The remaining building tiles from the building market are given to the players who have the most money of the respective currency in their hand (it does not matter how much the building costs). Alhambra: The Dice Game ( Alhambra: Das Würfelspiel, 2006) is a die-rolling game, broadly similar in play to Yahtzee. This is where having those walled tiles comes in, because players receive extra points for every connected walled tile (emphasis on the connected, it helps to bridge those gaps). Closing Thoughts on Alhambra There are ways to increase your productivity. The money cards have different amounts on hem, between one and nine, and if you can pay the exact amount of a tile’s price you then get another move, with no limit on bonus moves. Most players tend to pay more than the asking price, and you are limited by the cards available at the time of your go, but I cannot stress how useful those extra moves can be.

A video game version was being developed by Vivendi Games for the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Arcade, but was cancelled due to "unforeseen difficulties". [1] Reception [ edit ]

A further consideration is how much of a pure Alhambra experience do you want? Some modules (Bonus Cards & Currency Exchange) are a natural extension of the core game, whilst others (Invaders & Treasure Chamber) are more tangential and take it off in a slightly different direction. The promotional expansion/module "The Magic Buildings" was also released. It adds 6 magic building tiles to the game. When drawn, these tiles can be placed to score extra points depending on their surrounding tiles. The promotional expansion/module "The Medina Buildings" adds 9 Medina building tiles to the game. During the scoring rounds, they award "negative" points to the player with the fewest of these tiles in his/her Alhambra. Troisdorf (2005) is a limited, re-themed edition of Alhambra, with identical rules, set in and only sold in Troisdorf, the town in which Queen Games is based.

Alhambra fulfills its role as a very light game that gives you the enjoyment of constructing a building without a complicated rules set or long game length. Leave this one on the shelf when your hardcore Euro-playing friends come over for game night, or if you have a gaming group that is interested in innovative mechanics or immersive theme. Once you get the hang of the rules, a 2-3 player game can be easily completed in under an hour, which is definitely a selling point. Each player is dealt starting money cards one at a time, face up, until the total is 20 or more. After this the player’s hand of currency cards are kept secret. When a scoring card is drawn it is put to one side (withdrawn from the game) and the next card or cards are used to make the number of money cards up to four. But before the next player starts his turn the scores are calculated.

Object of the Game

You must be able to reach each new building tile "on foot" from the starting tile without crossing a wall and without going off the tiles. In each scoring round, points are awarded to whomever has the most, 2nd most or 3rd most of each kind of building (depending on scoring round). If there is a tie, the points for the tied positions get A player can take any one of the money cards from those lying face-up, or several money cards if they do not add up to more than 5 (the currency does not matter). The best master builders in the whole of Europe and Arabia want to demonstrate their skill. Employ the most suitable teams of builders and make sure that you always have enough of the right currency. Because no matter whether they are stonemasons from the north or horticulturalists from the south, they all want a proper wage and insist on their “native” currency. With their help towers can be constructed, gardens laid out, pavilions and arcades erected and seraglios and chambers built. Compete against your opponents to build the Alhambra. The new Score Cards changes the relative score values of the six basic types of buildings in each of the three scoring phases.
