About this deal

Then there's Mel, the hot-shot career woman trying to juggle motherhood and a career while battling tremendous guilt over neglecting her children. Mel's character and her life initially represented all my hopes and greatest fears for the future. I think at some point every women realises that she can't have it all, but many of us spend most of our lives trying so hard to ignore that fact or to prove it wrong that by the time we decide to stop fighting it and adapt to life's circumstances by striking a compromise, we realise just how much of valuable time and energy was lost in the battle. I was really glad to see everything work out for Mel, but could see how easily Mel's life could have taken the route of Caroline's if her husband hadn't been as understanding and supportive of her decision to give up her career to stay at home with the children. To All the Boys I've Loved Before is a very light and simple trilogy. I don't think I really needed to read it - I don't think I would have missed out on anything - but it was fun anyway. And sometimes a lighthearted and gentle read is all you really need. A film adaptation of the book titled To All the Boys: Always and Forever was released on Netflix on February 12, 2021. It is a direct sequel to the film adaptation of the second book P.S. I Still Love You. If you are a fan of classic movies, much like I am, then you'll remember in one of the most iconic musical of all time, High School Musical 3 , when Gabriella broke up with Troy's sorry ass because she realized that her education at Stanford was more important than any relationship. If you don't remember, here's a link to the heartbreaking, but totally realistic scene Someone please have a movie marathon with Lara Jean and show her that entire movie like three times. She really needs to see it and learn that PETER IS NOT MORE IMPORTANT THAN GETTING A GOOD EDUCATION.

The story can ba an allegory of today's crisis pertaining to women, it was heartwarming , definitely a very good book ,if you want to be heart-touched cried and be enlightened in your surroundings. They were mostly contemporaries, and this was one of them. I loved it. I stayed up until 2 a.m. reading it on a school night - I remember the experience distinctly. I will not be adding a synopsis of the book to my review as that has already been done by others here very well. I found this book during a book fair at my two daughters' elementary school. They were about 5 & 7 years old at the time, and they had not yet experienced the death of a loved one/family member. I skimmed it at the fair and was impressed with the author's way of handling the subject matter with such honesty and tenderness, so I decided to put it in our bedtime story rotation (even though it is a very sad story). Daisy, is a buyer and part owner for an upscale boutique in the town. In college, when she was chubby, she met and became a couple with Alex. They have lived together for 14 years and she has adjusted to the fact that Alex is resisting marriage. They have been trying to have a baby and nothing seems to be happening so Daisy makes an appointment at a fertility clinic.

I loved the realism of the characters, with their unrealistic ideas: Mel with her impossible workload, and low self-belief, just waiting to implode; Cleo, full of an intelligence and self-confidence that even her own family finds intimidating; and Daisy. Trusting, happy, centred Daisy. I suffered the most with her, especially during her fog-filled week of self-deluded bliss - it was so perfectly depicted. Also, the importance of telling someone you deepest secrets, someone who is there for you not just a family but most specificall a friend. This is why I truly believe 'no man is an island', anyone can be anyone's friend, if they chose to leave then that's okay it is life.

Aside from that, I love how the story centers about adjustment to changes . As the time flies by, changes are inevitable and sometimes, not everything is in our favor. Lara Jean makes out the best of her Senior Year High School with her boyfriend. They'll go together in the same college near home as planned. Everything is organized until she received her acceptance letter that makes her think laying out a new plan. She's still the goody-two shoes Lara Jean but she has a great character development in this book. She's more confident, flexible and welcoming to new options. Kudos to the Covey family for having a strong bond, to Ms. Rothschild who made the Covey household livelier and to Kitty Song Covey (my favorite Song sister) who's forever witty and funny. Dan proposes to Trina, and as the family begins to plan their upcoming wedding, they decide the three sisters will be the bridesmaids. As Lara Jean is accepted to her safety schools, the University of California, Berkeley and New York University, she is disappointed when she is rejected by Stanford. A dream she's had of her future with Peter seems to vanish. Each relationship had a different basis, different feelings, and different personalities. But each relationship, no matter how they end or progress, open our eyes to their most appealing qualities, which inevitably leads to me either liking or even loving all of these people, each in their own unique way. I have grown impossibly fond of each of these people and I will cherish them till the end of time. My reasoning for this decision was that death is part of life for all of us, and I wanted to give my girls a sense of what we feel when someone we love dies so that they might have some basis for understanding their feelings, and so they wouldn't be blindsided by them once they were faced with a real loss for the first time. I have never felt that my role as a mother is to shield my kids from frightening and painful realities they will have to face someday. Rather, my job is to prepare them for these difficulties. Always and Forever has LJ imagining getting married, buying a house and having kids with Peter, but looking on the side of probability Peter won’t likely be her first and last love. And that’s okay. The final movie has the young woman choosing for herself to go to the college of her choice. While Peter is devoted to her now, we don’t completely know what their fates will be. From this perspective, I’d say for what All The Boys is, it’s a satisfying conclusion to Lara Jean’s experience finding love for the first time. As many of us know, life gets a lot more complicated after high school, but that’s not the focus here. What do you think? Vote in our poll below. Sometimes in the book I was sort of annoyed or stressing for Lara Jean and her controlling tendencies as well as her avoidance of her problems, etc. After reading though I appreciated that Jenny Han wrote her character with such flaws because even though as a reader I was sometimes annoyed, I was able to see the realism behind the character. Lara Jean isn't perfect and has many flaws. Which is great to see because it's rare in YA books. I enjoyed seeing it in this book and hope to see more character flaws like this in the future
