About this deal
Sweetness– Not too sweet, but sweetened with sugar alcohols to the perfect level. A few of them have a good balance of salty & sweet. This one had crushed up peanuts on top and was coated in milk chocolate. It had a thin layer of (I’m assuming) caramel inside. The texture is smooth, softer, and crunchy(due to peanuts). The filling of caramel cream gives it an excellent fudgy chewing experience. Its sour, sweet texture makes it a perfect protein bar for those who don’t like to eat too sweet protein bars. Barebells have two different plant-based protein bars; Hazelnut Nougat and Salty peanut vegan protein bars.
One of the main things I noticed when trying these was the texture. They’re not chalky at all, but also not too chewy (at least in this flavor.) It’s hard to find a protein bar with a good texture, so I was really impressed with that. So all in all Barebells have delivered on the mint and the sprinkles, but to call this mint dark chocolate is a bare-faced lie and I just won’t condone it. Lemon Curd White Chocolate (8.5/10)The center is softy, and you don’t have to put a lot of effort to chew. The sweet and creamy chocolate coating and the crispies on the top felt good. The overall texture is spot on.
There’s no other way to say it – this bar is ‘meh’, boring, a bit bland. It’s not bad, but its not fab. It’s oddly similar to Fulfil’s Hazelnut Whip bar, just without the benefit of a hazelnut flavour. No shade to Barebells but, like with so many other flavours, Fulfil just outdoes them here. Hazelnut Nougat (6.5/10) In terms of flavor, this bar actually reminds me of a Twix bar, which is one of my favorite candy bars of all time. When Fulfil discontinued the ‘ Lemon Zinger’ I was more than a little bitter (pun fully intended). Although Barebell’s attempt isn’t quite as good, it’s certainly not bad. It’s not bad at all. Texture– All of these had varying degrees of chewiness, and none of them were chalky at all. They have a great texture for protein bars.

Mint chocolate has really grown on me, and I no longer consider it toothpaste with a twist. A pretty standard protein bar flavour, Barebells’ mint offering doesn’t match the likes of Grenade, but it’s a pleasant bar for mint fanatics (but not if you’re expecting dark chocolate). What sets Barebells apart is their candy bar-like texture. If you’re used to dense & chewy protein bars, Barebells will completely change the way you view protein bars. But as per the standard of vegan protein bars, it’s pretty decent. It’s not the best one, but it’s okayish(acceptable). Like salty peanuts, white chocolate protein bars are also made with almost the same ingredients except for almonds.
