Description

I’ve already read and love The Grandmaster Of Demonic Cultivation (Mo Dao Zu Shi - MDZS) from this author (Wei Ying & Lan Zhan will be forever my fav couple), but this one is a proof how this author really grew after MDZS book. Legend has it that eight hundred years ago, there was an ancient country within the Central Plains called Xian Le nation. Born the crown prince of a prosperous kingdom, Xie Lian was renowned for his beauty, strength, and purity. His years of dedicated study and noble deeds allowed him to ascend to godhood. But those who rise may also fall, and fall he does–cast from the heavens and banished to the world below. I absolutely love th Noble-born Mo Xi is the foremost general of Chonghua, known for his ruthless temper and ascetic air. Once he was one of two promising young commanders, twin stars of the empire. His comrade, the lowborn Gu Mang, was Mo Xi’s brother-in-arms, best friend, and—secretly—his lover, until the day Gu Mang turned traitor and joined the ranks of their nation’s greatest enemy. Now Gu Mang has been returned to the empire a ruined man, a shadow of the military genius he once was. The public clamors for his death, and no one yearns for vengeance more than Mo Xi. Or so he thought—for faced once more with his bitterest enemy, Mo Xi is left with more questions than answers. Why did the man he loved betray him? And what secrets hide behind Gu Mang’s tortured eyes?

The novel revolves around Xie Lian, the current prince of the Xian Le kingdom. There wasn't a single person who knew him and didn't love him. Due to this and other factors, he was able to reach the Heavens while being a youngster. However, this didn't last forever, and he was banished to the mortal realm again in little time. BODY IN ABYSS, HEART IN PARADISE White No-Face, Xie Lian’s greatest fear and most hated enemy, has arrived…or so it seems. While the ghost with the half-crying, half-smiling mask is somewhere nearby, the creature is elusive as always, taunting Xie Lian from just out of reach and promising the total destruction of everything he holds dear. As Xie Lian confronts the trauma of his last encounter with the terrifying ghost, Hua Cheng will do anything in his power to protect him. But White No-Face’s identity and purpose are not the only mysteries to unravel, as Hua Cheng also has a history in the labyrinthine tunnels beneath Mount Tonglu. Will Xie Lian finally discover the full connection they share—and learn the true depths of Hua Cheng’s devotion? But I am absolutely comfortable with the end of TGCF. Whether Xie Lian and Hua Cheng live in the Puji Shrine or in the Paradise Manor doesn’t even matter because they’re where they should be. Ghost City, in particular, is such a strangely wholesome place and I absolutely love the idea of Xie Lian living there for the rest of his infinite days. The ghosts of Ghost City adore Hua Cheng, and that sentiment is automatically redirected to Xie Lian the second they learn about his relationship to Hua Cheng. I feel content at the idea of Xie Lian living in a weird place that is full of wonders, but also always being surrounded by people who love him. Because Ghost City loves Xie Lian way more than the Heavenly Capital ever will. CHARACTER DEPTH LEVEL +10 】 Three years have passed since Shen Qingqiu betrayed Luo Binghe, and now there are only two years left before his “deceased” disciple rises from the dead to claim his bloody glory as the protagonist. At least, that’s how the story is supposed to go. In the midst of investigating a mysterious plague, Shen Qingqiu discovers that his actions have irreparably altered the plot— Luo Binghe has returned all too soon and Shen Qingqiu’s brilliant escape plan isn’t even ready yet! Worse, Shen Qingqiu can no longer predict his young disciple’s actions. The only thing that hasn’t changed is Luo Binghe’s intense fixation on Shen Qingqiu himself, but even this obsession may be more than it seems. Not that Shen Qingqiu has the time to puzzle through all the inconsistencies. There are various parties at play in the changing plot, and if he doesn’t act fast, he may face a fate far worse than death. All English editions include exclusive art and internal illustrations. Some books, such as the finale volumes of the MXTX novels, also have special limited editions that include extra art or merchandise. I think another great thing in this story that’s rare, is the fact that the main couple is actually equal - not told to us that they’re equal, rather it is, say it with me... shown to us that they’re equal. There are two set prices for our books—the US and CAN—however it is up to the discretion of retailers how to price the books, and some fluctuations may occur for a variety of reasons including sales or the exchange rate of your local currency.

After many more years, there was suddenly a day where the Heavens was once again disturbed by a loud noise. The young prince cultivated in earnest. During this time, two short stories became widely circulated. .I think what makes this book stand out me to this are the interpersonal relationship most of all. They're all immortals! They could hold grudges for millennia! The amount of messed up content from pathological projecting to extreme loyalty and centuries-deep hunger for revenge... it's a lot, and I think that with the amount of characters this book has (and there's space for them to get developed!), there's something for everyone. To me, the you in your greatest glory is you, the you that has fallen from grace is also you, the most important thing is you, not what kind of you.” Sidenote: I like that the people opposing Hualian aren't doing it because of homophobia. They’re more like, "Xie Lian, that's a Ghost King. A GHOST KING." And I also very much like that it doesn’t stop Xie Lian and Hua Cheng at all. Both sides of the Main Street were overflowing with a sea of people. The aristocrats were seated on top of high buildings as they exchanged friendly chatter; while the imperial guards cleared the way with their impressive armours clinking. Young girls danced gracefully as their snow-white hands scattered flower petals like rain, filling the sky as far as the eye could see. It made people question whether the dancing maidens were more beautiful or the flowers themselves. Melodious notes sounded from within golden carriages and floated throughout the whole Imperial City. Behind honorable guards, sixteen white horses with golden bridles walked side-by-side as they pulled forward a magnificent platform.

I'm not going to try to summarize what this is, because it's so long that I almost forget what is a spoiler and what isn't, but let's just say it's as epic as epic fantasy gets, and the stakes... the main characters are either gods or ghosts (who might or might not be more powerful than a god), so you can imagine. Also, this time I actually really liked the romance? The one in Mo Dao Zu Shi was a combination of tropes I didn't care for, but it wasn't the case this time. Each series will be available in North America and in many bookstores around the globe. In case the books are not available in a store near you, some online retailers will also ship internationally. THE END OF AN EPIC TALE–AND WHAT COMES AFTER Foes, allies, and one reassembled fierce corpse converge on the Guanyin Temple for a climactic showdown. With decades-long schemes finally unveiled, and dark secrets unearthed, the events of this rain-battered night will decide not just the fate of the entire cultivation world–but also that of a love story two lifetimes in the making. Also included are eight short stories that focus on the future and the past. From magical incense burners to tense banquets, to lotus-pod hunting and nighttime expeditions with the juniors, these stories span from dawn to dusk and so much more! All the stars for this book and Mo Xiang Tong Xiu, wooooow!!! I feel like reading this book is one of the best decision I did this year so far.. absolutely wonderful tale… full of heart, adventures, rollercoaster of emotion, amazing characters, sweet romance and magic! I literally cannot find a single flaw *cry happy tears*
