Description

A fallout remover from the Autoglym Professional range which Autoglym claim leaves a smooth finish for polishing whilst speeding up the valeting process, safely removing contaminates such as industrial fallout. In 2016, the FDA warned consumers not to use a certain type of bentonite clay due to its high lead levels. Wang M, et al. (2023). Lecithin-amended montmorillonite clays enhance the antibacterial effect of barrier creams. Of course Kato Liquid does all the normal liquid polymer clay things, too, so it’s really quite a good bottle to have on hand. Kato Liquid Polyclay gives a glass-like shine after baking, especially when cured further with a heat gun. Sculpey Clear (Transparent) Abdelnaby A, et al. (2022). Application of bentonite clay, date pit, and chitosan nanoparticles as promising adsorbents to sequester toxic lead and cadmium from milk.

A: Not a great deal. The name and bottle size are the most obvious factors, although there is a subtle difference in the formulations, but not enough to make a great deal of difference to the performance. Magma was formulated with the needs and desires of the home user in mind, Liquid Clay was formulated for professional users. Both are excellent at removing iron, are pH neutral and both use Colour change Technology, turning red during use. After baking, TLS has a slightly milky appearance and is not completely translucent. It can often have lots of tiny bubbles, but that seems to diminish in thin coats or when warmed very slowly. Because of this, it’s best used in applications where clarity does not matter. It can be used as a coating, but results are best when used quite thinly. TLS is matte after baking so it makes a wonderful matte protective coating for surface treatments. Just sponge on with a cosmetic sponge and bake. While TLS is matte when oven baked, but it will take on a slight shine, sort of like a satin, when a heat gun is used on it. Note the slightly grainy and perfectly matte finish that comes from using TLS as a coating. There is some cloudiness, but it is perfectly clear when sponged on and then baked.

Are allliquid polymer clays the same?

Khan MM, et al. (2022). Assessment of antimicrobial potential of Plagiochasma rupestre coupled with healing clay bentonite and AGNPS.

Translucent Liquid Sculpey is the first liquid clay that I remember being on the market and it’s often referred to by its initials, TLS. The label has changed over the years, but the formula appears to be the same. TLS appears white, has the consistency of white glue, and is fairly grainy when you rub it between your fingers. It has a mild smell similar to that of Premo. Kato Liquid is unique in that it can be made to be completely clearwhen you use a heat gun on it. You can do this after baking, or you can just use the heat gun to cure the Kato Liquid. If you do this with several thin-ish coats, you can get a remarkably clear surface treatment. Doing this will make the surface extremely glossy and glass-like. The surface will also be hard, eliminating the rubbery feeling and making the surface able to be sanded without balling up and peeling. Oguz H, et al. (2022). In vitro mycotoxin binding capacities of clays, glucomannan and their combinations. A: Clay bars may take longer to use, but they remove more than just iron from vehicle surfaces. Clay bars can be used to remove iron, tar, tree sap and paint overspray, so they definitely still have their place on your detailing shelf. Turgut R, et al. (2022). Development of cholesterol-lowering and detox formulations using bentonite and herbal ingredients.Pleasant citrus smell is an optimistic claim"¦ it smells better than others but not what one would call pleasant. Like all other liquid clays, Fimo Liquid works nicely as a bakeable glue and to soften crumbly polymer clay. I like using Fimo Liquid as an all-purpose liquid clay, and it’s stellar as a colored glaze in faux ceramic effects, but it’s not my favorite for creating clearcoats. I know that some people have had very good flawless results with Fimo Liquid, but for me it forms lots of bubbles, plaques, and the surface can have a fine, pebbly grain at times. Kato Liquid Polyclay A: No, Fallout Remover removes iron contamination from vehicles by using Oxalic Acid. Until reactive bleeding fallout removers came along, this was the preferred method of chemical iron removal, and is actually still a very effective remover of iron deposits. It is safe to use as directed, do not let the acid word scare you, we would not sell it if it was damaging. Just make sure you follow the instructions and you will be fine. Fallout Remover does not turn red and show where the iron contamination is. If you want that sort of product use Liquid Clay or Magma. It’s a bit misleading in the above photos, but all the brands DID get more clear after a heat gun was used on them, even the Fimo Liquid. But as you can see, it was Liquid Kato that had the greatest increase in clarity. When placed over print, you can clearly see through both the Liquid Kato and the Sculpey Clear. (I know the picture isn’t that clear. It’s hard to photograph clear things!) We have received a lot of questions recently regarding our liquid fallout removers, Magma, Liquid Clay and Fallout Remover. Usually these ask how the products differ and ultimately “which product is best for me?” To help you answer these questions and find the right product for you we put this article together.
