About this deal

For more energy-efficient use, the low mode emits 80 lumens with a maximum beam throw of 35 meters and 302cd of brightness. The brightness is still pretty impressive from high to low modes with increasing runtimes.

The mid mode provides a max output of 237 lumens. You get a maximum beam throw of 59 meters and 900cd of brightness — I love the beam distance gap here. As you can see, Turbo mode performs 26% higher than specced! And all modes are performing bettering than specs, so I do like that a lot. Instead of exaggerating, Nitecore decided to go a bit lower, and surprise their customers! Well done! Nitecore EDC27 Battery life and runtime graphs When the light is off, half press and hold the Power Button to directly access ULTRALOW. Release to turn it off. Direct Access to TURBO The LEDs used inside are the Luminus SST40, which are pretty powerful for the size, but also a bit greenish in terms of beam tint. And even though most users wouldn’t even notice this, many flashoholics do.For high-output lights, one of the lux meters uses an ND camera filter to prevent the lux meter to max out. This is either the Kenko PRO1D ND16 up till about 80,000 lumens or Gobe ND32 for anything above. Remaining battery power is indicated by pressing the power switch while the EDC27 is turned off and the OLED screen will display the battery level bar and the voltage. When the battery voltage is below 3.4 V the power indicator beneath the buttons will flash blue every 2 seconds to inform the user to charge the battery. One of the biggest fears of OLED screens is their water resistance. Now you know that the entire flashlight is completely IPX4 waterproof rated. That basically means that you can peacefully use the flashlight under heavy rain. I’m always reluctant to test the impact resistance no matter how strong the flashlight is — yes, even one from a very reliable flashlight brand such as Nitecore. But I was a little reluctant to drop it since I had only one unit; however, the build feels strong enough.

The flashlight has a high-strength stainless steel body with a PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) titanium matte coating that is anti-corrosive, water-resistant, and impact resistant. The EDC27 is equipped with a multifunctional OLED display. (Please remove the screen protector before the first use.) When the light is turned on, the screen will successively show the current info (Brightness Level & Lumens, Runtime Remaining) before it goes out. After the screen goes out, half pressing the Power Button can reactivate the screen. The stated data is measured in accordance with the international flashlights testing standarts ANSI/FL 1-2019, using the built-in Li-ion battery (1,700mAh) under laboratory conditions. The data may vary in real world use due to different environmental conditions. Charging Function The clip has a number of holes, too, including this loop seemingly ideal for attaching the included lanyard. EDC27 διαθέτει σώμα από ανοξείδωτο ατσάλι υψηλής αντοχής με επίστρωση Τιτανίου PVD (φυσική διάσπαση υδρατμών) If a retired SWAT commander finds this flashlight impressive, you will SURELY find it exceeding your expectations.

The Nitecore EDC27 is a new flashlight from Nitecore with a slim profile design. Featuring a stainless steel body with a PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) matte titanium coating. A copper and aluminium heat dissipation module helps draw heat away from the LEDs to provide longer lasting lighting. The flashlight features two tail buttons; the strobe & turbo and the mode button. These give you direct access to the strobe/turbo and the main modes. It provided a comfortable and secure grip, allowing me to easily maneuver the flashlight. I knew that this flashlight was built to last with its anti-corrosive, high-strength, and rigid construction. The output measurements in this review are based on my homemade integrating spheres, each equipped with an Extech SDL400 Lux Meter. For consistency and accuracy, a calibration light (Convoy S2+ with 249lm and a Convoy S2+ with 261lm) is measured prior to each set of lumen measurements. Finally, the ultra-low mode emits 18 lumens with a maximum beam throw of 17 meters and 75cd of brightness. I couldn’t help but wish if it had a 1-lumen or 0.5 lumens moonlight mode.
