One of the classic characters from the global phenomenon that was Street Fighter II, Chun Li is the longest-active female fighter in the franchise.
The hair buns are hollow and built over plastic half spheres so I can stick them over my own hair braided and rolled into buns. To add more texture, I pin tucked the top, and chose a pleated gold taffeta to complement the turquoise fabric. I thought it was a great stylish translation of an iconic character, and as a costume project more challenging than a default Chun-Li costume would have been and still very recognizable as the character. The first original Chun-Li first had heeled white boots but was then changed to white combat boots instead. I absolutely love Razvan-Sedekiah and thank her so giving me inspiration to make what is now one of my favorite costumes.
The characters they take on have a wide variety of looks, that range from adorably cute, roguishly handsome and everything in between! The photo edited by Darshelle Stevens shows the fantasy aspect of Chun-Li's power, accompanied by the power stance. Maddy has the build of Chun Li but with a soft, more feminine face while photographer Jess places Maddy with a cherry blossom background, which is flower associated with Asian countries.
She also uses black combat boots, which are more realistic instead of the white heeled go-go boots Chun-Li wears in battle in her first original outfit. Though he's originally from Australia, he's made quite the name for himself in Japan with both his presence in the ring and with his musical style "Kawaiicore," that blends J-pop with hardcore metal. Her most well-known outfit is a blue qipao with yellow/gold embroidery, a white sash around her waist, dark brown sheer pantyhose, and white knee-high combat boots. Danielle Vedovelli isn't just capable of pulling off Chun-Li's looks, she can pull off her moves as well!Along the way, she fights many villains with the help of her friends and allies, such as Guile, Cammy, and Ryu. Chun-Li isn't the only Street Fighter character Ladybeard has cosplayed, he's also showcased a pretty steller Cammie cosplay as well. Our first creative cosplay takes the original Street Fighter II Chun-Li and puts her in a black qipao instead of blue.
