Group exhibition'A Perfect Day'brings together 56 international artists and over 500 drawings with text that reflects the poetic, absurd, frustrating, and glorious in daily life, accompanied by drawing sessions and a programme of live events. Recurring themes and thoughts pervade his storytelling, capturingdeliberately two-dimensional views of the world, the perspective of aliens and monsters or the compulsive habits of an eavesdropper shouting out loud. David Shrigley has launched a limited-edition of George Orwell’s dystopian classic 'Nineteen Eighty-Four', constructed entirely from pulped, second hand copies of 'The Da Vinci Code' – the tenth bestselling book.

There’s a striking ethical turn in Get Your Shit Together, in a section where animals talk back to their human oppressors. While the dogs use AI to operate within their surroundings, their creative capacity is limited: "I'm very directly telling the robot what to do and how to operate. The way Shrigley stands back from the circulation of his own art could almost make him seem cynical. Included in the presentation is David Shrigley's 'The Bell', 2007, on loan from the Arts Council Collection, UK. Shrigley lives in the countryside in the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and drives into town to work here, at a simple drawing table. Group exhibition ‘Earth Beats’ explores artists’ engagement with our natural environment and its vulnerability, featuring artworks from the 18th century to the present. As 2020 ends and another year begins, DRAF's 'Broadcasts: On Screen' programme also draws to a close.When he says he still paints as he did aged five, he doesn’t only mean he has avoided being ruined by craft skills.
