About this deal

In a society where perfection is paramount and mistakes are punished, one young woman takes a stand that could cost her everything.

This love story goes deep as everyone except the couple knows that they are destined to be together and they realize the fact after a long journey looking for someone else. Soon after this incident, while Celestine is commuting on a bus, she commits an act that ultimately gets her branded as Flawed. But today I feel that the rules have been blurred, because today they were literally on my front doorstep. I want to reach into the page and tell the characters that I understand them, that they're not alone, that I'm not alone, that it's ok to feel like this. Being 'flawed' or 'perfect' had nothing to do with how you looked, who you loved, what you believe in etc.

Even with two pregnancies and marriage she has given twelve titles in a decade and most of them have made their mark. Ahern did a good job acknowledging the stress of living in a society where perfection is a constant expectation and imperfections are forever shamed. My characters push through and as a result evolve, become stronger and better equipped for the next challenge that life brings.

She is even going out with Art, whose father, Judge Bosco Crevan, is the head of the guild that runs the Flawed system. I did want to put a trigger warning that there are some quite violent and distressing scenes in this, which definitely shocked for a YA. I actually loved this book which I really didn't expect, when I first started reading it I wasn't sure about how it was written but the more I read then I understood the dialogue.
