I will say this much - if what I read online is correct, Corrigan does finally get his just desserts later one, after the Infinite Crisis is over (and maybe the Countdown series).

There are some stories by other artists where faces tend towards the unrecognizable with the grit, and throughout the series I got a little tired of panels with talking heads and no backgrounds.Long-time supporting characters of Batman, James Gordon and Harvey Bullock, also made recurring appearances. I will say this about the artwork - even though the colors and whatnot matched the tone of the book, at times, it was hard to tell some of the characters apart. Their superiors, Commissioner Michael Akins, Captain Margaret "Maggie" Sawyer and Lieutenant Ron Probson also appeared prominently. It's one of my favorite examples from the Big 2 of small personal stories that work within a wider continuity.

The year-long break provided by the Infinite Crisis event provided an opportune place to close out the main storylines. With a publishing history spanning decades, it can be daunting for new readers to know where to begin when looking at their library of comics.This long hardcover will keep fans occupied for a while, with a confusing DC crossover event made easier to read in omnibus form. This is the real focus of the work, and Brubaker and Rucka build up a rich cast of characters through which to tell their stories. Some of the stories were being built up only to fizzle out or be unresolved leaving a bit of a disappointment with me.
