The bass is a little quiet, but it never gets lost in the clamor of the drums and synth, and the same goes for the rhythm guitar. The G435 supports the AAC and SBC codecs, so iOS users will even have access to high(er) quality audio streaming — Android users may want to stick with SBC, though. Plastic parts include a minimum of 22% certified post-consumer recycled plastic by weight, giving a second life to end-of-life electronics and contributing to a more circular economy.

My voice was indeed louder than the background noises, but the external noises were still very much there. On the downside, the mediocre sound isolation means these aren’t going to be a great option for listening in a noisy environment, or for isolating others from your audio in a quiet one. Logitech's G435 has a unique mix of light weight, low cost, and wireless flexibility to work across a variety of devices. Logitech says the G435 is optimized for smaller head sizes, but I have a rather large head (I use the last two notches on an adjustable cap) and I found the G435 fit my head well with the headband fully extended.Because they only move so much, I had to keep readjusting them to relieve the pressure they placed on my ears. If you’re going to be using the G435 in a really quiet environment, this might not be a big issue, but the microphone makes it a poor option if there’s any kind of background noise. Logitech’s 40mm drivers pump out a respectable volume level, but the clarity is pedestrian, and the overall sound quality is just okay. Logitech says that dual beamforming mics reduce background noise, and the key word there is “reduce,” rather than eliminate.

If this headset were heavy, the lack of actual cushioning in the band might be a problem, but it’s 163g — lighter than just about any gaming headset we’ve reviewed — so it’s really not an issue.Testing Atmos and Tempest 3D, the audio feels more enveloping than pure stereo, but when playing Warzone I didn’t get the kind of enhanced positional information about enemy movements and fire that I found with headsets that have specific gaming-oriented 3D enhancements like the Creative SXFI Air Gamer and the Fnatic React+. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them all day, which was surprising given that the headband lacks padding and has just a thin layer of fabric over the plastic. You’ll hear important game audio elements just fine, and music sounds good tonally, but the bass from explosions and gunfire is underwhelming, and you’re not going to hear any new details in your favorite tunes. The voice clarity wasn’t quite as good as with boom microphones on the Creative SXFI Air Gamer or the Razer Barracuda X, but nobody had any issues understanding me. Modeled like the company’s other G series headsets, it offers some of the same features – like soft memory foam cups, a lightweight frame, and adjustable ear cups in place of an adjustable headband.

They seem to stop at a point, where going any further would make them more susceptible to brakes, either from wear and tear or from sudden drops. Game audio, people talking in the next room, and the clack of my typing were all very noticeable in both game sessions and voice recordings. I made sure to move it as gingerly as possible, lest I accidently crack some inner working and ruin the sliding mechanism. The ear cups are a little on the small side, but the mesh fabric covering is comfortable, and the headset’s clamping force is slight enough that it doesn’t feel egregious. Environmentally conscious consumers who like the idea of a carbon-neutral headset should invest in the G435 Lightspeed, or any Logitech headset for that matter.Logitech claims the Logitech G435 battery can last 18 hours on a single charge, but in our testing, we found it well exceeds that. While the audio was just okay, the lack of any perceptible latency was impressive, as was the solid connection using both the Logitech Lightspeed dongle and Bluetooth.

Tom's Hardware is part of Future US Inc, an international media group and leading digital publisher. To be clear, this microphone doesn’t sound quite as good as the boom microphones of even other Logitech gaming headsets, but it sounds considerably better than most embedded headphone microphones. While I’m not a fan of that design in general, the G435’s is made worse by how thin the bar is that connects them to the headband. My friends could always hear me when gaming, though the twin mics did leak in a little background noise here and there.This colorful headset seemed poised to be another solid pair of cans; a midrange device that, despite not having the most robust suite of features, was decent enough to warrant a strong recommendation. Now the company is back with an even lighter, even brighter (color depending) gaming headset — the Logitech G435 Lightspeed is built with sustainability in mind, and it makes some pretty big design departures. Set to the 100dB limit, the headset can hit up to 110dB(SPL), and set at the 85dB limit, the Logitech G435 Lightspeed can reach 99dB(SPL) — it does limit, but it’s well over the specified level, meaning there’s still potential for hearing damage if you’re listening for more than 8 hours.
