Description

Decorate your scrapbooks, photo albums and journals by sealing your flowers onto each page with resin.

Adding a silica gel pack to your storage container will also protect your pressed flowers from moisture, which can cause them to mould. These kits tend to be designed with adult use in mind, with a higher level of craftsmanship and design aesthetic.

Once the flowers are ready, which should be around the two to three week mark, remove very carefully. The better the quality of the blooms at picking time, the better they’ll look when dried and pressed. I haven’t thought of pressing flowers since I was in elementary school and did the “books and bricks” kind of pressing.

Adding greenery amongst the flowers will create a unique look, so select some complementary foliage and leaves too.For a traditional pressing method, you can press flowers between the pages of a book, a photo album with acid-free paper sheets or a flower press. Crafting timeless memories is easy with our flower pressing system - perfect for weddings or special occasions - as you can preserve flowers with exceptional color retention in just minutes!

My Microfleur Max has allowed me to press a variety of plants and flowers, including roses, angelonia, esperanza, plumbago, vincas, crepe myrtle blossoms and ferns. Measuring 12 x 8cm (~5 x 3 in), this pocket-sized press has elastic bands and includes five sheets of corrugated card, eight sugar paper sheets, and a little info card with instructions. If done correctly, flowers from a microwave press will retain their colour better, and they can be pressed the day they’re plucked.

Still loved today, not only does flower pressing extend the life of your blooms, but the displays also add a unique, stylish touch to your home. There are, however, criteria that deserve consideration before purchase, especially if you’re a beginner. It’s the ideal fit if you’re looking to press many flowers at a time or want to try out projects that incorporate longer/wider pieces of foliage or blooms.

In my case, I’m pressing a hibiscus flower ( like this one) and it has a thick bottom part that I’d like to cut off. I got to team up with Edible and create this project using flowers from their FruitFlowers bouquets! I find that wildflowers generally press pretty well in a book, but anything that might retain a lot of water won’t do as well (like portulaca). If you’re interested in mod podging some of your pressed flowers, it’s something to keep an eye out for! Cover the flowers with the remaining three paper towels, and then place the second cardboard square on top. Yesterday we met up for a cream tea, we not only came away with a doggy bag but also the flowers on the table.
