It looks like a Note, has a slot for the S Pen like a Note and carries across many of the features most would associate with a Note.
The 4nm processor (in our test phone it’s the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset – UK or Australia will get Samsung’s own Exynos 2200 chipset. lens, Dual Pixel focussing and OIS, though that has been usurped by the even bigger 200-megapixel sensor on the newer S23 Ultra. The new design for the camera sensors has them sticking out, so the phone rocks a lot when you perch it on a table. I mentioned concerns about battery capacity in my hands-on with the Galaxy S22, but I didn’t have the same qualms here and I have generally found the endurance on par with Galaxy S21 Ultra. It can feel a little like you’re no longer in control of the lens, but it does do a good job of countering your shaky hands.Lance Ulanoff makes frequent appearances on national, international, and local news programs including Live with Kelly and Ryan, Fox News, Fox Business, the Today Show, Good Morning America, CNBC, CNN, and the BBC. By default, it’ll combine multiple pixels from that 108MP sensor together, though you can shoot at full-res if you want. Even so, we detected some warmth on the back of the phone when performing a variety of tasks, including web browsing, photography, and gaming, for extended periods. Aside from the awesome cameras, the main reason you’d spend all that extra dough on a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is for the integrated S Pen. display that curves around the left and right edges with a flat top and bottom – just like the Note 20. As you can probably tell from the length of this review, there’s a heck of a lot to talk about when it comes to the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
I stood outside Trusted Reviews HQ and zoomed 10x towards the tip of The Shard and the resulting images are crisp and perfectly usable. That was, however, until the Galaxy S22 Ultra made its first official appearance during Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event on 9 February – it looked remarkably familiar. Google Pixel phones rely more on computational power than raw megapixels to deliver fantastic images, and the results must be seen to be believed. It doesn’t last anywhere near as long as the iPhone 13 Pro Max though and throughout my week with the phone, I have been charging it on a nightly basis after hitting the red zone just before bed. The further three models all come with 12GB of RAM, with your storage choices being 256GB, 512GB or 1TB.
