Although not plentiful, the extras do provide some quality content, particularly for fans interested in the production of the film. Laura Hasn't Slept was written and directed by Parker Finn in 2019 and later debuted at South by Southwest in 2020. The film received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised the visuals, themes, cinematography and Bacon's performance, but criticized some of its jump scares and noted its similarities to other horror films such as The Ring, It, and It Follows. There are a number of night scenes, with figures obscured in shadow, and the disc shows every creepy detail in some solid blacks, with no image loss, pixilation, or image crush in the blacks. Each of the main actors (and their characters) get some screen time here, and all of them provide some interesting interviews.

The native 4K image is awash with detail, everything is perfectly sharp; skin texture – pores, hairlines, make-up, scars, etc – is excellent, while clothing has clear weaves.The Dolby Vision transfer, as well as the HDR, is fantastic, and shows nice variance in the pale and neutral colors. Though Finn does run through some familiar horror tropes, it’s his use of a genuinely creepy atmosphere that keeps us unbalanced and slightly askew the entire time. Smile has everything you want in a horror film: a disturbing premise, unnerving imagery, and some well-earned jump scares. Noises from empty houses or wood that creaks towards the end of the film all make for wonderful sounds.
