An artbook showing the evolution of the Gorillaz along with interviews/narrative etc would be great although I guess that might be too mainstream for them. I have bought so many great art books over the years and I just can't help but feel that this doesn't quite cut it.To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Gorillaz’ eponymous debut album, the band’s co-creator and artist Jamie Hewlett has teamed up with Z2 Comics to release The Gorillaz Art Book in April 2022. The weird feeling that you get is that by trying to be an annual, the likes of which us Brits might have picked up in WHSmith in the 1980s, it's trying to be slightly edgy and cool. The Gorillaz Art Book by Gorillaz, Jamie Hewlett, Z2 Comics
Tara Billinger, the creator of Long Gone Gulch and the character designer for the Mickey Mouse Shorts W TV series. Speaking about the project, Hewlett said: “Gorillaz have always collaborated with music but this is the first time we’ve done an art collaboration. Earlier this year, Gorillaz announced a super deluxe box set reissue of their debut album Gorillaz and released a three-song EP titled Meanwhile .One thing I do love is your site and your continued work to bring to our attention some amazing material.
