The children will surprise you as your going on this vile and twisted adventure right along with them. I found myself shaking my head at these characters several times, I could not believe how involved they were in their own lives and how oblivious they were to what was going on with these kids. the characters were flat and full of stereotypes, the plot was predictable, the playground games were explained in such a strange fashion that it almost made some of the games hard to follow, and the world building left much to be desired.

Bradbury had to publish his short stories in the second-line magazines like Planet Stories and Thrilling Wonder.

Some of the subject matter, especially with domestic violence, is too vividly described for me and made those parts difficult to stomach.

And not because I put together some amazingly difficult clues, but because it was blatantly obvious. Since this isn’t my usual genre but it still captivated me for most of the ride, I think anyone who enjoys a good twisty plot will love this. This was a somewhat dark and twisted story that was the quick read that I needed after a couple of heavier reads. The novel explores the dark side of human nature and tests the limits of the characters as they confront their fears and navigate the dangerous playground. Despite the fact that the culprit was obvious from the beginning, this was still an entertaining domestic suspense novel.Rock: A character with a redemption arc, navigating the battle between loyalty and personal survival. Prepare to be enthralled, disturbed, and captivated by the horrors that unfold within the pages of Playground. After tragedy strikes not once, but twice, the parents finally realize something has gone horribly wrong. The characters are well fleshed out, the story makes sense, but deep inside all the gore there is a commentary about parenthood and the ills of the world we live in.

I’m not sure if I’m supposed to like any of the characters since most of them are weak-willed or power hungry, and some just get worse as the story goes on. He also contributes to the Evil Examined Podcast where he explores the most strange and horrifying events in the history of humanity with his lady and friends.Ele vai fazer de tudo para proteger seu filho dessas crianças que ele vê como demoníacas e desse parque que ele vê como sendo o próprio inferno. I love talking about books with fellow bookworms, so I started my blog, Never Enough Novels, and joined the group here at Literary Quicksand!

Bradbury then goes one step further and creates a situation where the father has a choice, a real and then a paranormal decision to guard his boy against the dread of a violent and uncaring childhood. If you, however, enjoy the brand of brutality Beauregard delivers, this one will make you smile from ear to ear.The sounds I made when this book arrived in my mailbox exactly a month before release date - let’s just say they should be illegal. I also had to suffer through the words “fermented beaver” “vaginal excretions” and that alone was enough for me to request a refund.
