If the vision is to be literally fulfilled, then the fulfillment must be future, for nothing like what is described in Ezekiel 40–48 has taken place up to this point. It was during this festival that, as mentioned above, the sacred statues from Karnak were brought over to Luxor Temple for a special visit. From what I read online, they told other people completely different reasons for why they needed to pay more.

I had the Luxor Pass (see below) so I was able to visit the temple multiple times without paying extra. John to the seven churches that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth.

But he turns to what might seem to his hearers a yet higher authority--to the great prophet ( Isaiah 66:1-2), who was preeminently the preacher of glad tidings, and who had closed his mission with the utterance of the truth that, whatever glory and greatness might attach to the Temple in Jerusalem, the prayer of him that was "poor and of a contrite spirit" was equally acceptable wherever it might be offered. The Eastern Gate, facing the Mount of Olives across the Kidron Valley, is unique in that it is completely sealed shut. The façade and internal walls consist of upright stone slabs, known as orthostats, surmounted by horizontal blocks.

Know and see that it is evil and bitter for you to forsake the Lord your God; the fear of me is not in you, declares the Lord God of hosts. Most who expect a literal fulfillment of Ezekiel’s temple expect it to be erected in the millennial kingdom, a 1,000-year reign of Christ upon the earth. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word. His elucidation of the temple at Luxor and his presentation of the Egyptian understanding of a special quality of innate consciousness form a bridge that links the sacred science of the Ancients to its rediscovery in our own time. To draw near to listen is better than to offer the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know that they are doing evil.

If Luxor Temple is supposed to correspond to human anatomy, why is the crown of the skull completely missing? It was still an hour after opening, but aside from one other visitor, I had the entire place to myself for at least an hour. It is not easy to determine which is intended; though from the fact that what is here recorded occurred near Solomon's porch ( Acts 3:11; compare the Plan of the Temple, Matthew 21:12), it seems probable that the latter was intended. But this is at variance with the signification of the word ὡραῖος; for the name Susan is to be explained from the Persian capital ( שׁוּשַׁן, town of lilies), which, according to Middoth, 1 Kal.

In ancient Chinese medicine, for example, the lung was believed to contain po, or the material body of the moon. During processions, the solar barques of the three deities would likely be cleansed here before being taken deeper into the temple. While nothing here is as remarkable as what’s covered above, you can find remnants of every historical period from the New Kingdom up through the Roman and Coptic times. Arguing for a literal fulfillment of the prophecy of Ezekiel’s temple are the numerous details of Ezekiel’s vision and the specific dimensions of the temple. He, with the French Egypologist Alexandre Varille, developed the symbolist approach to ancient Egypt. The special word he uses for “dwelt” is the Greek verbal equivalent of the noun used to describe the tabernacle God commanded Moses to make in Exodus. So the message of Genesis 1-2 is clear: God created humanity to dwell with him and bear his image to the world. While accessible to visitors, the best views of this part of the temple are from the public road directly across from it. The ideal person represented by Luxor Temple, according to Schwaller, is the ‘divine man,’ or man before the Fall (acquisition of ego).
