Seven months after it debuted atop the Billboard 200 in March 2015 West Coast rapper Kendrick Lamar's third studio album To Pimp A Butterfly is finally getting the vinyl treatment with a 180g 2LP pressing housed in a double gatefold jacket. Now with a massively successful US tour opening for sweet soul darlings Thee Sacred Souls behind him, 2023 is sure to be a propitious year for Daptone's newest signee. We stand behind every product we sell and offer free live support if you need assistance setting-up, troubleshooting, or maximizing your purchase.

And this album is filled with these songs that can give you emotional or conscientious whiplash, such as “How Much a Dollar Cost” where we find Kendrick getting into an argument with a homeless guy about the cost of a dollar and the argument ending in a painful twist that really throws you for a loop. Any idea on what listing is available for this that has a “manufactured in Poland” sticker on the back? The story and concepts are met with fine tuned and ambitious production that draws influence from genres that had been heavily progressed by the African-American community such as Funk influences on “Wesley’s Theory”, the Jazz influences on “For Free?Anyone who has had the pleasure of seeing Jalen perform live knows that he is one of the most captivating performers on today's soul scene. it was the second album that i listened fully, and it was an odd experience to think this simple album was top 1 on a site like rym. after listening to mortal man and realising where the name "to pimp a butterfly" comes from im just left out disturbed and terrified by how this album actually ended. The transition from These Walls to U, when Kendrick says "I found myself screaming in a hotel room", it cuts off before he says the M, then on the other side you actually hear him pronounce the M before the scream starts. but I’m deducting stars because this is somehow the highest rated album on the platform and I’m not trying to contribute to that average.

Brand new issue of this inspired and inspiring album, 'To Pimp A Butterfly' is an adventurous, challenging album, and one that can be added to your essential Hip Hop list. There really isn’t a low point in this album or in its tracklist, as I think everything holds up together masterfully. Layers upon layers open up, revealing little bits a pieces filling out the atmosphere you might otherwise miss. In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases. To Pimp a Butterfly is not just a rap album, it's a jazz and blues album, and all 3 genres of music work so well together.Arguably the best rapper in the world currently, Kendrick describes the album as "honest, fearful and unapologetic". His full length debut on Daptone Records is equal parts raw feeling and elegance and exudes confidence and charm.

With us learning at the end of the album in “Mortal Man” that Kendrick Lamar had been reading out this poem to 2Pac during this interview that includes pieces of interviews he had taken before, but splicing together with Kendrick’s interview to convey that Kendrick Lamar is actually talking to the late 2Pac, and it's done rather seamlessly. If you've never heard this album before you're almost committing a fucking crime, an absolute must hear for any human being with the capacity to feel emotion. Music Direct reserves the right to change the terms of this promotion or discontinue this offer at any time. The production is wide and lush, each note from each instrument and sample rings out and you don't miss a detail. I like nearly all kind of genres and own more oldschool hiphop but this one belongs to my favorites now. I get ultimately that's not a deal breaker, it's small potatoes in the long run but damn man, that's such a simple thing not to fuck up so it sticks out. I’m Eli and I listen to music and this is my review for Kendrick Lamar’s third studio album, “To Pimp a Butterfly”, released in 2015. not because its bad, but because it was overrated and i didnt understand what people saw in this thing and therefore ive been hating on this album for like a year.
