Bloomsbury Young Readers are the perfect way to get children reading, with book-banded stories by brilliant authors like Julia Donaldson. it is a great way to display high-res images where you want the user to be able to also view details. If you lose sight of your subject while zoomed in, press the Snap-Back Zoom button for a quick zoomed-out view. For years, Samsung “Space Zoom”-capable phones have been known for their ability to take incredibly detailed photos of the Moon.

In this particular case, though, the Moon images captured by Samsung’s phone seem less the result of optical data and more the product of a computational process. Samsung doesn’t exactly claim its Moon shots are representative of all its zoom photography, but a consumer would be forgiven for thinking this, so it’s worth emphasizing what’s really going on. Without properly explaining the feature, Samsung has allowed many people to confuse its AI-improved images for a physics-defying optical zoom that cannot fit in a smartphone. You could train “detail improvement engines” on all sorts of data, like the faces of your family and friends to make sure you never take a bad photo of them, or on famous landmarks to improve your holiday snaps. As you can see below, the first image on the screen showed no detail at all, but the resulting picture showed a crisp and clear “photograph” of the Moon.Use your mouse wheel or the + and – buttons on this incredible interactive view of the Moon to zoom in; use your mouse to let the image take you where you want to go. In 2021, Input Mag published a lengthy feature on the “fake detailed moon photos” taken by the Galaxy S21 Ultra. This lovely Zoom Zoom Zoom nursery rhyme resource is the perfect display item when teaching your class this fun nursery rhyme. Ultimately, photography is changing, and our understanding of what constitutes a “real photo” will change with it. We’re certainly heading to a future where techniques like Samsung’s “detail improvement engine” will become more common and applied more widely.

While a nice image, it’s not really “insane” resolution – at a rough estimate, it seems to be about 20-30 megapixel actual resolution.Whenever the “zoom, zoom, zoom” part starts, hands are rubbed together while rocking them up in the air.

Use the camera’s Dynamic Fine Zoom, an enhanced digital zoom that effectively doubles the reach—to a 4000mm equivalent!

Use a shutter speed of at least 1/15 second or faster since the moon actually moves pretty fast across the sky. This is an established technique that has its problems (see: Xerox copiers altering numbers when upscaling fuzzy originals), and I don’t think it would make the resulting photograph fake. The imaging equipment on board the Apollo 11 mission that immortalised this exceptional page in human history included high-performance lenses from Angénieux, a Thales Group brand. This extraordinary and imaginative adventure from well-loved author Jenny McLachlan is perfect for children who are learning to read by themselves and for Key Stage 1.

Shoot video as you zoom into your shot, or experiment with time lapse of the moon’s movement across the sky. Samsung simply says it uses a “detail improvement engine function” to “ effectively remove noise and maximize the details of the moon to complete a bright and clear picture of the moon” (emphasis added). Using Spot metering will also help you get the correct exposure for the moon, which will be the brightest part of your image.

Next they needed to develop a new mechanical processing method to prevent the grease - usually used on earth - evaporating in a vacuum and fogging the lenses. At the Moon’s 12:20 position along the edge, and say 1000 kilometers toward the Moon’s center, located just above the white crater, there appears to be some sort of raised plateau. Select it and the camera will optimize the settings, focusing at infinity, in the center of the frame. The series is ideal for both home and school, with gorgeous colour illustrations, tips for parents, and fun activity ideas. Full moons—whether they’re Supermoons or not—make great subjects to photograph, and its easier than ever to shoot the moon with the Nikon COOLPIX P900 and its built-in Moon Scene Mode.
